Would 303 protectant work well? I used it first time today and it didn't feel slick to me. I'm going to try it on my own steering wheel before I use it on other cars.

Are you on Comcast? Their DNS gets messed up sometimes. I switched to using open dns. You can change DNS by configuring your network adapter. Right click and manually assign DNS. Open DNS is: 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

At least you're getting sunshine. In California we're still getting showers -_-. Hopefully it won't ruin the long weekend coming up. It's time for a new coat of wax :D

Btw, Collinite #840 is not for clear coat vehicles. I don't use a pre-cleaner before polishing. I only use them when I want to take off old wax to put a new coat on. If you want to stick with wolfgang for your entire process, a sealant is also offered.

+1 I originally bought the kits with 6.5 inch pads. Used them 1-2 times and then switched to 5.5 pads. Best switch ever.

The weather is getting crazier every year. We had beautiful weather last week in Bay Area, California. Now it's showering again...in MAY -_-. I wouldn't get too ocd with keeping a DD perfect. The elements will put scratches into the car again. I just focus on not getting those deep nasty swirl...

Both combination are good choices. I would pick 2 for ease of use.

I only use about 1/4 a bottle of TSR and FG for my entire car (2010 Toyota Corolla). I think applying an X pattern is good for a fresh pad. After that you should use a lot less. I would do an X for a new pad and then 3-4 dots on it after. You use a lot less product this way.
