Could PNS be ruining my microfiber?

I never wash my wax and sealant towels together with all others, especially glass towels which get a dedicated washing all by themselves. What type of washer are you using? I have an industrial front load (Wascomat) and never have trouble.

    DP Glass coating issue?

I had a similar problem and it ended up being wax residue. I'm not sure if this is applicable here but once I stripped the glass using glass polish and IPA the coating started working as expected. I also used new blades.

Anything different about cleaning and protecting a farm tractor?

Forget about the hydraulics. That would be like protecting your shock absorber piston rods. If you have painted surface I would wipe it down with a good spray wax like OCW, Fuzion spray wax or even Meguiars spray wax. Is it painted or powder coated?

I use 303. It seems to work but I've only been using it for a few years.

    Dashboard cracks why?

I know a little about Japan having lived there for three years in total. There is no way a car of that vintage is going to be garaged for 16 years. It most likely spent a great deal of time out in the sun. Cars are "inspected" at 3 years and then every 2 years thereafter. Those inspections...

    Dashboard cracks why?

Let me get this straight. Is the car a 2004 (i.e. 16 years old)? Being garaged for 4 of 16 years should explain it. 16 years of exposure to UV will make the dash vulnerable to cracking. Did I miss something?

    Window cleaning trick

I'm not a pro but on our vehicles I spend extra time on the edges and corners of the windows. I use D120 and a lot of dedicated waffle weave towels to clean windows. The last thing I do is go for all edges and corners and make sure they are pristine. It makes a huge difference for anyone who...

The simplest thing can gain a customer.

I don't leave voicemail because I don't know when the return call is coming and I move on at that point. If I don't have a choice I leave word but say that I prefer text. An appliance repair guy we use has his voicemail say very quickly, "If you can, leave a text message and he will return a...

    AIO Cleaner/Wax Users

AIO is also good for preserving your clear coat if you're just looking for a polish touch up and not a full polish. I use it once a year and always top with wax (Collinite and OCW weekly in my case).

How to machine clean a dry erase board by Mike Phillips

I tried this but it failed. I used McKee's AIO and IPA. I've tried Collinite, Fuzion and OCW. Still can't get dry erase to wipe off cleanly. I think my board is beyond hope.

    Washing with Microfibers?

I never had trouble with the newer bright yellow Costco MF. It is 360 GSM. The older 300 GSM was a bit harsh but the newer stuff works well on my paint. I retired mine because they got old and replaced them with 400GSM for normal use and 500GSM for buffing wax. I usually swap them out every...

    Washing with Microfibers?

Never had any marring or swirls with the brush, ever. My cars are all pretty clean when I wash them as I wash them weekly as a form of Saturday exercise. I use Meg D110 or Optimum car wash (the blue goop that comes in gallons). Both feel very slick and I use deionized (distilled) spot free...

    Washing with Microfibers?

I use a Griots chenille wash mop. There are many variants of this available from many sources. I used to use a boar's hair brush but mine is getting worn out so tried the wash mop and liked the results.

The OCD Method of Washing Microfiber Towels

I have a front loader. This method does not work, either. Luckily it has some very long wash and rinse cycles available. A full cycle with heavy duty runs about 3.5 hours and the towels get very clean. I run two loads. One with any towel that touches wax and the other with any towel that...

    McKee's 37 Headlight Coating

I have two bottles that turned to jelly. I will give it a try and use it on some polycarbonate that I don't really care about. I never thought about IPA. It should be fine. I think it turns to jelly because it was too close to saturation at time of manufacture.

Contest - Find my Newspaper to clean glass theory on MOL - win a prize

To add on, you can use the "site:" directive on Google or duckduckgo or probably any other search engine out there. "site:" will limit a search to a particular domain. In this case enter something like this as your search: This effectively gives you a "private" search engine for any public...

What are some common myths and misconceptions about car detailing?

There is a myth that some special skills are needed. Techniques required are not special, just proper, optimal and precise. Deviating from any of those three techniques in your method will usually not end well. It is not like playing sports where talent is required. Just knowledge...

    Interior Products - Just Unpacked

Thanks for the affirmation, Mike. That says a lot. Regarding 303, I found this quote online regarding automotive/marine/aviation labeling: "Here is the answer I received from the manufacturer, "The only difference between the two products mentioned is simply the label. They have different...

    Interior Products - Just Unpacked

I read the comments and it seems like and 303 protectant and Meguiars quick interior detailer are popular here for cleaning and protecting interiors. I bought 16 oz. bottles of each to try them out and I agree. These arrived today courtesy of the recent 25% flash sale. Thanks, all.
