Is it okay to apply Wolfgang dgps by hand?

There's no abrasives in it. So applying by hand is probably more efficient. And Autogeek has a BOGO on foam applicators right now.

Poorboy’s World Bio-Degradable All Purpose Whitewall Cleaner and Degreaser

I've just started using it, but seems to work well for me. I have not used it on any whitewalls yet. I like that it does not have nearly as strong a smell as Megs APC+ so is a bit more friendly to use inside the car.

    Evil Car Cleaning Product(s)

Because a bad reputation is incredibly difficult to overcome. Just ask GM and Chrysler.

    That wet look?

Locate what? Buy some 91% alcohol at the local pharmacy, put it into a sprayer 50/50 with distilled water, and you're all set.

    That wet look?

Sealant needs to chemically bond to the paint. So the surface must be pristine. No wax, no oils, not even a QD. An IP wipe (Isopropyl Alcohol) is probably the best thing after your last buffing step. Then do the sealant.

    That wet look?

Or Wolfgang, or any one of a number of quality sealants. But I've found that a good finishing polish, and jeweling paint are what are really necessary to get things looking their best.

    Evil Car Cleaning Product(s)

I remember that! But I can't recall the product it was for. I was too busy trying to figure out how to get some Malms. Finally convinced my dad that the old can of paste Simonize was past it's date, and could he please order some Malms polish and wax. That was certainly the first micropolish...

    Review: Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner

There was all kinds of stuff there. MBs, Triumphs, Jags (including an XK140), etc. Great stuff. Yea, the wires are tricky. And cleaning them up for the owner is going to be tricky too! I wonder if I can spray some Opti-Seal on them once I get them clean and keep the dirt to a minimum for a...

    Joyful return - thanks!

Whoa.... looks like a solid piece of onyx. VERY beautiful. And now you have the tools to make sure it stays that way. Good luck!

    Another Highlander (blue)

Great work man! Isn't that bug sponge awesome! Combine that with some PoorBoy's Bug Squash or something similar, and cleaning up these bugs is so easy...

    Novice Detailer needs advice!!!

This is like asking about playing baseball and asking for advice on how to steal home plate. How do you plan to get the car clean? Does the paint need to be polished before you apply these sealants? Does any other work need to be performed? Once the paint is in pristine condition, either of...

    Interior Detailing Rates?

That's exactly what I charge... interior or exterior. I much prefer to be working the exterior though. Just as a general rule, I prefer to have an all encompassing price. Rather than charge people more money for a challenging detail, I'd rather give folks a break on the price for a cupcake...

    2007 Mini Cooper S

I don't know that I've ever seen any commentary from Surf City. Someone else said they were cutting it at 3:1 or 5:1 or something and I decided to try it. At 3:1 it's still unbelievable.

    Review: Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner

LOL, but having the mirrors "on the wing" like that makes it darn difficult to adjust! That's what the co-driver is for! Does remove the blind spots at the rear corner of the car.

    Mazdaspeed6 2007 Detail

Yea, that looks FABULOUS! I hate to say it, but even though the Wolfgang stuff costs so much, they definitely have some terrific products. I've been super pleased with the sealant and the tire gel. The Auto Bathe didn't seem that special to me. I am going to have to break down and get a...

    Evil Car Cleaning Product(s)

I used one of the Pinnacle ones on a Mini yesterday. Worked as advertised! Great addition to the arsenal. As for evil, I'm going with Megs Wheel Brightner. It works no doubt, but I'd want to apply it with a HAZMAT suit on. Scary stuff.

    2007 Mini Cooper S

Yea, these pics are all taken with my phone. I just don't have the interest at this point to do anything different. Maybe if I start doing more details... Megs APC+ 10:1 is ok for light work on the wheel wells. If I need something with more juice I'll go to 4:1. And if they are REALLY bad...

Starting business - need advice on products

While the money is an issue, the bigger part of what you are saying here is really the experience and skill. Anyone can buy a PC and some pads and polishes and call themselves a detailer. But those of us who are serious about it, spend a LOT of time practicing and learning before we would do...

    2007 Mini Cooper S

Interesting detail today. A member of my British Car Club asked to have his Mini detailed. I was actually supposed to to the Mini and his wife's MB wagon, but I'll save that for another day. This was a full detail and a bit tricky since the owner had done the stripes AND the roof with the...
