Pondering the Rupes LHR 12E Duetto...

I guess I don't see the spending the money on the Duetto when the LHR 15 mk2 isn't that much more expensive.

    Meguiars ultimate protectant

Ultimate Black Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer D4510 D163 I've tested all of these and have no problems holding up in the rain. Especially Ultimate black and ultimate plastic restorer. D163 can streak a bit after rain. But it will hold up just fine and one of the better dressings I have used.

    Meguiars ultimate protectant

Lots of dressings do. Blackfire Trim and Tire Sealant definitely do. WETS does as well. Megs Ultimate Protectant and Ultimate black have no problem "resisting water".

Protecting/Preventing corrosion in my spotless engine and engine bay in my New vehicle

Almost 100k now in the CC... looks better than it did when I bought it. Mostly use hyper dressing because I'm lazy. Coming up on almost 200k miles in the GTI... I'd say the cosmoline that was on these cars did/does an excellent job of keeping the rust away. Contrary to what has been posted...

Car Paint restoration step #2 : Meguiars Ultimate Compound Review

Agreed. Also looks like using too much product as well. Side note, that DAP setup looks horrid to try and do an entire car with...

Body shop "detailers" sprayed some oppressive chemical air freshener. I'm dying.

Just like any other offensive odor in a car, you need to remove it from the source first. Activated charcoal will help AFTER you've removed the source of the smell and kill any lingering smell in the air still. Simple solution, extract your carpets and do an all around interior detail on the...

Car Pro CQuartz DLux plastic & wheel coating? Second thoughts

I don't think that should really be a concern. An aggressive clay bar would be enough to remove most coatings. The less often I have to pull my wheels to re-apply a coating, the better I feel.

    Best way to use Essence?

This is sort of an accurate description of the product. It is hard to tell how much is polishing power and how much is filling. What I will say with my limited experience with the product, is that if you over buff it, it will turn to glue. Less is more. Keep your speed reasonable, lower than...

Cyclo or Rupes for my first polisher?

So much misinformation in this thread. Have you ever used a Cyclo at all? Correction ability is very good. I would rate it just below a Rupes 15 due to the lower top speed of the Cyclo. It is still a large step up from a PC. First lets get this out of the way. The Cyclo is a bit under powered...

    defrost ice covered windshield fast?

One of my co-workers has a vinyl cover that goes across his windshield. It gets closed in the doors. He walks out after it snows, pulls the cover, shakes it off and drives away.

Any Fans of Megs Ultimate Protectant?

I find it depends on the material you are applying it to. One of my cars it looks about right, and another one it is too glossy for. Agreed. This is my favorite part about this and Ultimate Black. They are actually dry to the touch and slick.

    REVIEW: Rinseless Wash Mitt

The Junkman also is a bit of a hack IMO. The GDWM will always be a safer method when compared to two bucket for rinseless. It is also quicker, and has less cleanup.

    Cold weather rinseless washing

Well... D114 specifically contains Propylene Glycol which is basically engine coolant.

    Hyper Dressing

I only use it on wheel wells and engine bays. Spray on, walk away. These are all 3:1 Honestly I'm not sure I see much of a difference between dilutions on gloss levels:

    Protecting Interior Mats

This is what I use. Doesn't leave anything slippery behind That sounds like a recipe for disaster. I wouldn't use anything that would cause the mats to feel slippery at all.
