At What Age Do You Graduate From Grouch To Curmudgeon.

I like dogs. It's the damn inconsiderate lazy ass owners that I want to give the soaking to. The dogs actually seem to like the water. And the huge raccoons that wander up and down my driveway actually love the hosing. They stand right in front of it and it brushes their teeth for them. And...

    Dreaded Door Panel Speaker Holes

What's the worst thing to have to try and get off the grills? Dog doo. And it had been on there for some time and was solid like plaster. A passenger had stepped right in it while traversing a parkway and getting into the car. Nobody smelled anything until it was already too late. I had to...

At What Age Do You Graduate From Grouch To Curmudgeon.

And then when can you go straight to crank? I now believe that it's my right and that I am fully ready to take up the mantle of Curmudgeon. I finally bought one of those motion sensor sprinklers. I set it to "fire" after 15 seconds of a "presence". It must be working. Whoever was letting...

Need advice, 4L distilled water emptied in to foot well.

Extractor if you have one or if you don't a wet/dry shop vac. Work it until no more water is coming up then press towels into the carpet to soak up that last little dampness. Then put a fan on the front seat pointing down into the footwell and leave the windows down for 24 hours. Preferable in a...

    Specs in buying DA

You could always do what the vast majority of people have done for well over a decade. Get a Porter Cable DA, commonly called the PC. It's the cheapest and has proven to be very reliable. After you learn how to improve your paint THEN you can determine if you want to spend HUNDREDS on a Flex...

What are you charging for Headlight Restorations?

I charge. Nothing! I bought a bunch of the 3M Headlight restoration kits on Amazon for $8.49 each including free shipping. And when a friend need his (or her) headlights restored I just GIVE them a kit and loan them one of my AC variable speed drills and keep an eye on them while they are doing...

    2016 Pinehurst Concours de Elegance

What a stunning collection of fine automobiles! And very nice job of capturing them too. I am always a fan of any old, preferably original race cars. Did you have a favorite subject?

What car detailing/cleaning products do you keep in your car?

I keep just one thing (other than tools) A big can of Costco baby wipes. They remove bugs, bug splatter, bird crap, and recently dripped sap. Since I know I am going to be washing the car as soon as I get home from anything more than just a trip to the store I just remove the material that is...

Pre sale Details 09 WRX Subaru

Looks fantastic. I hope your customer appreciates the details that so many shops miss. The door jams and the area inside the tail gate hatch. It always make me wonder when I see a nice shiny car with those areas still filthy. Good catch making them look like new. :xyxthumbs:

    Competition Ready-Episode 2

The Peterson is only a few minutes from where i live. Next time I go I'll pay particular attention to the Round Door RR. I wonder if they will do something terrible like dust it with a duster before i get there?

CR Spotless and AR Blue AR383

That is where I got mt CR too. I only use it for the final rinse to save the filter medium. And my current electric pressure washer is a Snap-On (also from Costco) and it works just fine with the limited flow through the CR. I am probably only using 6 to 8 gallons of water doing the rinse.

How to get scratches off stainless nerf bars?

You will need to go super heavy duty. You have to actually remove metal down to the level of the scratch to actually eliminate it. You can polish it to make the sharp edges slope down into the bottom of the scratch and that will make it far less noticeable. But to fully remove it you will...

    Phone calls you hate getting

I may have gone to the most extreme method of avoiding annoying calls. My home phone is left off the hook unless I want to make a call. My close friends have my cell # and no body else. I have never gotten a telemarketer call on it. I have it set to reject all numbers other than those few...
