Favorite Rinseless - Some Questions Too

I've tried a couple of rinseless washes. Here my impressions: Blackfire Rinseless - tried this for the first time this weekend, and I'm liking it (which is good, since I bought a gallon of product). The towel glides on the paint when I'm washing the car, dries very evenly, and leaves a nice...

    Please help me choose pads

Get the Meguiar's MF pads for cutting, then the Tangerine and Crimson Hydrotech pads for polishing and finishing.

    Bad Sample of wolfgang DGPS?

Transfer it to a larger container, then shake really vigorously. The consistency and even the sound will change, becoming less like water being shaken and more "gloopy".

Too cold for wash and wax with 845

What I've experienced is that 845 has an effect on HDPE and LDPE (which is what the Megs self-cleaning bottle is made of, I believe) plastic - the solvents seem to find a way to leak/leech out of the bottle, even when tightly sealed - maybe this also had an effect on the plastic itself, possibly...

    Wash with wax combo ?

Yes, it should be fine. It might be worth applying a "proper" wax first, and then using D156 to top-up periodically - though if you'll be applying every two to three weeks, I'd guess it'd work out ok.

    Migliore Endurance Quick Detailer

Another option worth considering is Poorboy's Spray and Wipe - reasonably good cleaner, and since it doesn't leave any wax or protection behind (per product claims), it's pretty much streak-proof - I actually use this on my windshield a lot, where any streaking would easily be seen.

Wax for black vehicles under $50?

:iagree: 915 is pretty close to 476 in durability, actually - and better than 845.

    Turtle Wax Brand polishing compounds.

A detailer friend of mine has told me that the Turtle Wax Premium Grade polishing and rubbing compound (the ones in the bottles) are actually not half-bad, in a pinch - they're actually fairly mild, as far as compounds and polishes go. They're completely different animals from the regular...

    Question regarding Collinte 915 durability

Adding to what everyone else has said - that is not how 915 is supposed to bead after application. I do always apply to the whole car before removal, though.

    Request for Lusso Products

It's now in a ref, along with my other waxes :xyxthumbs: (Average temperatures of 90 to 95 F are no good for waxes).

honeydew ratio for gilmore foam gun

Yep, that's how I interpret the way they describe their settings. You're right though, it would be interesting to test how this varies depending on the flow.

    Request for Lusso Products

Hehe - I don't mind tightly sealed, but not to the point of not being able to use the wax! :D

Question about sealing and waxing windows

My default product for windows, including the windshield, is Opti-Seal - lasts as long or longer than most rain repellents I've used, performs ok (I've found it works best at around 70 to 80 kph ~ 43 to 50 mph), and doesn't cause any wiper juddering.

How many buffer pads does a new business need?

Additionally, setting-up a business is not just about having the skills needed for the job - you also need to know how to manage your costs and set proper prices in relation to the effort and materials required. Part of the knowledge that's needed is being able to determine, based on your...

    Request for Lusso Products

I haven't used my Lusso Oro wax yet, but I can say that the container (at least for the one I got, with the gold lid) is absolute crap - the wax jar is made from a different grade of plastic than the lid, and in our tropical climate, the main wax container expanded more than the lid, so I could...

    nanoskin vs. clay

Not unless the manufacturer of the clay says so in the directions (there are few that need water only - Bilt Hamber being the most notable one - though to my knowledge, none are sold in the US).

honeydew ratio for gilmore foam gun

CG's recommended dilution for Honeydew is a bit difficult to ferret. On their site, they say 1:4000, but then go on to say one oz for four to five gallons of water, which works out as 1:512 or 1:640. Other sites say one capful for five gallons, which is supposed to result in a ratio of 1:1100...

    Clay + Bag Test

At the very least, a QD or waterless wash - otherwise, you're feeling the dust and dirt that's fallen on your paint in the interim (and rubbed it across the paint too, probably causing marring). In fact, if you want to really minimize marring, try to avoid touching the paint unless absolutely...

    The Junkman: Guess the wax

Wax doesn't change the look? Can't say I agree - let's have a few pictures do the talking. Here's a picture from a review that PhantomMagician did of Meguiar's Gold Class Quik wax over at Meguiar's Online: And here's one from a review that Al (Bunky) did of Mothers California Gold Synthetic...

    Foam cannon soap

I really wish it were easier to obtain the snow foams you have over in the UK - they really are more effective than a regular shampoo. However, even CG doesn't sell their real snow foams in the US - the only one I've seen that's easily available is Avalanche.
