I use chemical guys metal polish. Works very good. Never had a problem with it. It's affordable too! I can't justify buying the other metal polishes that are easily double it's cost

^agreed! I've had some really badly damaged exhaust tips where rust and heavy oxidation formed, 0000 steel wool if it gets that bad

I use d114 and d156 on my car. I don't have time for the 2bucket so d114 and d156 every week or twice a week gets it done for me. When I feel like treating the car I'll put megs hitech yellow wax.

AHHHH I know exactly what your talking about. My BMW mirrors are the same way. I've have some success by spraying spray wax onto a microfiber towel and using that, then a second towel to dry. Everything I've used always gets streaky as if something is there

I think it'll evaporate and or fly off by the time you start to move. If you want, I guess you could put wax on and not wipe it off if you're that worried. Otherwise just bring some microfiber and quick detailer with you, and When you stop for gas for that 300 Mile trip, just spray the detailer...
