Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

it's because they're being polite. the truth is that this forum is for the products, and their use, sold in the autogeek store. the revenue generated there pays for this forum. not the money you give home depot. so the question you're asking is quite inappropriate, take it to reddit or...

    C Quartz DLUX on Headlights?

Anyone have advice on how to apply DLux to headlights? I did some searching and saw 3 different techniques: 1) Apply thin and leave to cure without buffing off (this is recommended for smooth plastics on the CarPro website) 2) Apply and buff off immediately with a MF towel 3) Apply, allow...

    Pads for general AIO use

Is there any reason that LC green pads aren't more popular for general AIO use? Their description says: "Use this foam to apply one-step cleaner waxes. It is a balance of polishing and finishing that is perfect for all-in-one product application". So it would seem that they would be a great...

Taking calls while detailing a client's car

Perhaps on your "Contact Us" page, right above or below your phone number you could say something like "Location / Address: We are a mobile service located in and servicing [city, state]. We also service [list of neighboring cities, if applicable]."

Anyone using Hose Slides when washing?

I've got to start using them. Last time I washed my car, the hose kept getting stuck under the tires even though I tried to make sure there was enough slack to get around. It's infuriating.

Seperate / Dedicated Pads for AIO Products?

Great info everyone. I do have 3D Towel Kleen, and I was reading in another thread that it makes a good pad cleaner at 4:1. So I can put some in a spray bottle and apply it to the pads as soon as I'm finished, then do a thorough cleaning at the end of the job. I have 8 orange, 8 white, but...

    How many pads?

Which type of pad do you use for cleaner wax? Mike has an article in which he recommends LC Black or White. I'm considering getting some more pads to dedicate to AIO products.

Seperate / Dedicated Pads for AIO Products?

Should pads used with AIO products be kept separate from pads that are normally used with polishes and compounds? I have a number of LC orange, white and black that I use with with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, Polish and Collinite 845. For my own car, I don't mind taking the time to do all 3...

    Best/favorite all in one?

I just tried searching "AIO" and " all in one" and your're right. Those terms are either too short or too common to find any threads. One way around this is to use Google. Just type in "AIO autogeek" and you will get some results. There will also be a link below that say "more results from...

I found detail spray and spray wax to have significant savings over smaller bottles.

What rim and tire product do you use for protection?

I'm planning on using DLux on a set of wheels I just got, but was reading about a hazy look that develops after 6-12 months. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm curious to hear from C5 users too.

What microfiber towels to stock up on?

I really like the Gold Plush Jr's. They're quite versatile, so they're perfect for detailing sprays, spray waxes, and removing compounds, polishes and LSPs. They are sold in up to packs of 12. My only advice is keep towels that you use for removing bird droppings and bugs separate from those...

    DA Polisher

You mentioned safe, so I think it's important for you to know that free-spinning dual-action polishers (like the Porter Cable 7424XP, Griot's Garage 6" and RUPES models) are the absolute safest machine polishers. Rotary polishers are certainly more risky to use in the hands of a beginner as they...

    Griots Garage PMF Drying Towel.

I've got the large PFM and it works amazingly well, better than any chamois or WW I've ever used. However, I do find it difficult to use on the vertical surfaces of my sedan. I fold it up so that it doesn't drag on the ground, but that makes it bulky and difficult to handle. I'll add the pair...

2BM Wash - Rinse after each panel or entire vehicle

As long as I've had my driver's licence I've always washed my cars. But before I ever found this website, or was interested in taking car cleaning to the next level, I always rinsed the soap off after washing a few panels. I did so for the same reason you mentioned: not allowing the soap to dry...

what's one product that has impressed you (lately)?

Griots's Garage PFM Drying Towel and Ultima Waterless Wash Plus. I'd like to get the smaller PFM towels with my next AG order. They'll be even better at drying the vertical surfaces of the car.

    Orange Lake Country

I notice that all of the damage happened at the collapsed cell circles. Could this be a disadvantage of CCS pads? Do flat pads get damaged like this?

Review: Makita PO5000C Orbital Polisher - Gear-driven and Free Spinning - Mike Phillips

Hi Mike, great review! I notice the unusual shape of the Makita backing plate. How did you find its interaction with standard, round pads?

    3 inch pad question

I take it you were only using a polish with the orange pad? Perhaps the pad size did have something to do with the rate of defect removal. But if you want to speed things up, moving up to a compound would be my next step.
