Can anything get this off my wheels?

That looks like iron deposits above paint. I would keep using an iron remover until gone.

Griots Garage Air Pulse Cleaning gun Requires 8.97 cfm @ 90 psi flow rate...lol

I have the Black and I use it with a Pancake dewalt compressor. It works for DD DIY stuff but not for production detailing. It will only work well for few minutes, but I have time. I use it mostly under the hood and tough to get at interior panels.

HELP! Aluminum Wheel Cleaning Gone Wrong

Wet sand with 3000 grit a small section and then polish with compound and pad that can remove the sanding scratches. Inspect your results and go from there. They may be powder coated and the only way I know to test is use a fine polish and see if it goes black or white. Black is powder coat...

    Small polisher and pad?

The Nano kit is pretty expensive, but does great work (1" and 2" pads and polishes and compound). You can get 1" and 2" backing plates that fit on drill bits and use with a flexible shaft. Or you can do by hand (you can get good results if patient). A dremel spins way too fast 30,000 + rpm-it...

    Cleaning dried compound off plastic

Have used the McKees wax remover and works ok. Need to let it sit for a bit and then wipe off. Only used on paint so far.

Beginning scratches from rinse less wash...

I think the problem, if any, is not the application of the ONR. It is the drying stage. ONR once on paint (I use the sponge) it moves the dirt off the surface and into the solution. Some is picked up by the trailing edge of the sponge. The rest is absorbed by the drying towel. I personally...

    Baggie Test

Wow I have done the baggy test for 4 years and never had a problem. Run the test, Speedy Prep Towel, run test and repeat. If you can see pitting or chips of course they are going to make the grinding sound because they are not smooth. I have black stripes down entire hood, roof and trunk...

Kozak Auto Dry Wash Towels Test run

Bought a package about 2 months ago when weather was still pretty bad and never tried it until now. Seems to have been around since the 1920's. Skeptical that a cloth dragged across the dirty paint was a good thing? First trial Hood of DD, which sat in garage overnight, with 2 day's dust...

Hydro 2 enough for polished aluminum wheels?

Gtechniq Wheel Armor on bare aluminum machine polished by myself. Put on at start on winter and lasted all through 5 months on my DD. I used Permanon (Hydro2 like product) to spot clean but mostly ONR washed. They kept their shine and were super easy to clean. If I were to do again I would...

    Instant Detailing issues and questions

Obviously ONR is what you need. Quick Detailer's work good for spot cleaning light dirt or drying aid. ONR encapsulates the dirt and removes from the surface which reduces the risk.

Any benefits of using Mothers Carnauba Wax on my rims?

Absolutely use the wax on the rims. The heat is not on the rims from braking (it is on the calipers). Test yourself (carefully) touch your rims around the tire bead. It will be warm but hardly hot. If you like you can touch the calipers and burn your finger, but I would advise against it...

Has Anyone Done Iron-Decon Step Twice?

I used to be able to buy the gel IronX here on AG and it was my go to for rust removal on wheels. Sticks well and cleans iron particles well. I then would do a quick second coat of regular Iron X just to check if totally free of iron particals. I paint my wheels almost every 6 months so I am...

Overspray or heavy fallout on everything :( best options for removal?

Do a test spot. Pick a small really bad section and test various products. The baggy test will tell you tons. Lacquer Thinner is most aggresive and clay least. Compoud will also remove overspray but it is time consuming. I had some from body shop visit and it was very far away from the...
