1993 Lexus SC400 *lots of pics*

Nice car. I considered one of those when I was car shopping. All I could find were the 300's though so I passed. So was this done for a client or is this your own project car?

    R.I.P. Twinkie

Hi everyone! I checked out my local ralphs last night and the snack food area was very empty. I never realized how many hostess products mine stocked. Oh well. Was hoping for some easy ebay money.

What are these defects in my paint?

You guys mention it being clear coat failure. And then say the paint is cracking. Is this the basecoat itself fracturing causing a crack? Or is it white because clearcoat failure tends to turn white?

what is everyone doing to prepare for Sandy ?

Stay safe you guys. I guess I am lucky living here in cali. We never get anything that bad. We have fires, but they have never reached my part of town. How many gallons of gas do generators use a day? Do you guys have a supply to run it 24/7 for like two weeks? Cause thats what I would do if...

335i Paint Correction Day 1 - You want DISO? I found DISO!

Nice work! Im amazed every time I see a write up where the paint was trashed by a previous detailers. As autogeeks, we know that the purpose for pulling out our buffers is to remove swirls and other damage in the paint. These "detailers" end up installing more damage than they take out. Every...

For those who fear body shops. Check out my pics

I see what you are saying. Yeah, not a good thread title. I guess what I was trying to imply is that not all bodyshops are incompetent, and that there are shops who have the ability to satisfy us autogeeks who have rediculously high standards. Maybe I got lucky, who knows. All I can say is I had...

For those who fear body shops. Check out my pics

So a month or so ago, I was in a small collision where the guy for some unknown reason, put his car in reverse at a stop sign and backed into my bumper, I went through his insurance and he took responsibility. I remember having seen horror threads where the bodyshop either could not match the...

    52 GMC "patina" Look Help

Sweet looking truck! I like the looks of it. Its even cooler that you use it to haul stuff around. I like the gritty look.

    My Opti-Coat observations...

I've noticed similar results on my hood. Is it only happening on your horizontal panels? My doors and fenders bead like crazy. However, my hood has several patches when washing that show zero signs of beading. Going to lightely polish and reapply soon.

Something came in the mail!!! to swap or not?!?!?

Those look too hot for winter use. You need to do some searching to find the right shop. Those look 10 times better than the stock wheels. I cant tell, are they the same size? Think of it this way too. You will have to get new tires eventually. So in the long run, what difference does it make...

How rare are these pace cars? I saw one a month or two ago in Miramar California. Dude was hauling ass and it sounded amazing.

Has anyone used Orange Peel Removal Pad?

I dont see how it is any more dangerous than wet sanding. I guess it would be harder to tell when its leveled. But once its done, you dont have to sand out any sanding scratches right?

So Ford Brought A Couple 2013's To My School Today...

I completely agree with you. Going purely off looks alone, I would take a 2003-2004 Cobra over any other mustang available(including GT500 and Roush). The new ones are nice, but they don't do much for me.

So Ford Brought A Couple 2013's To My School Today...

Looks like the Explorer can no longer go exploring(except for mall parking lots). That ground clearance is atrocious! My altima has more front bumper clearance than that.

    ants gotta drink too....

I've never had any luck with bait traps. Never can get them to go in. I've been killing them as I see them with windex.

    ants gotta drink too....

Went to use the bathroom when I saw this. I hate ants 99.9% of the time because they are annoying as crap when they find food and then there are millions of them making trails throughout the house. This time though I decided to give them a break. The little guys must be thirsty. These past...

    Dr Colorchip...before and after...

You will still see the pitting unless they are very shallow. If its an actual chip, it will not fill it.

I hate letting other people touch my car!

I know what you mean. I took my car to a bodyshop last week to get my bumper replaced. When I was talking to the estimator, I told him that I do not want them to wash my car. I showed him how it was swirl free, and that I do no want to risk any marring from their wash bay. He was cool with it...
