Would any of the "coatings" companies back up their product in writing?

Interesting :xyxthumbs: Did spot one typo on the site. Clicking on details for Opti-Bond, it says ........Rubber and vinyl surfaces will remain supply, flexible and retain their colour with regular use of Opti-Bond As a Brit, Colour is the correct spelling but elsewhere in the world and on...

Review w/Video - Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass

Although G1 may well be able to cope with glass cleaners, in the last few years I have found that 99% of the time, simple soap and water will clean the glass

    Paint micron Article

Or to put it another way, normal paper is about 100 microns so the average new car has a total thickness of just over one sheet of paper

Hand applying Carnauba waxes more and more

A very nice wax As for using hands to apply, I tried this quite a few times and whilst it is a great way of feeling the curves and texture of the car I found it difficult to apply a thin and consistent layer or to put it another way 9/10 for sensory experience but 5/10 for application

    Post count importance ?

Kevin Brown only has a small number of posts, currently 164 but I think it would be wise to give his thoughts greater consideration than some others On the other hand you do get some who join a forum with the question about the difference between a wax and a polish (not a bad question) but...

I use a 20% IPA solution. It you leave the polishing oils on the paint, you cannot really judge how successful the polishing process has been

If you could only use one brand...

Although Meguiars have the largest range and no complaints from me about their products I would be quite happy living with Optimum, Gtech, Bilt Hamber, Finish Kare or Autoglym or maybe Zaino, possibly 3M, Poorboys....... Actually, I cannot think of any major brand which would upset me

Agreed, take your time, read the guides and then reread them. Keep everything nice and clean and try to remember to relax, it is much easier when you are breathing and the body is not tense. Edit. Welcome to the forum

Struggling with MF pads on rotary

Regrettably not using Optimum backing plates as they are not for sale (as far as I know) in the UK (M14 fitting). I am using Gloss It backing plates which seem to be relatively soft. Just in terms of my velvet suggestion, I managed to find the ones I was thinking of, from CarPro Velvet Orange...

Struggling with MF pads on rotary

Thank you everyone Chris@Optimum, I wish I could make it to the end of a panel. After less than a minute the pad is becoming hard to control. I will take your advice regarding a clean panel and give it another try. Just on a slightly broader topic, if the flattened fibres decrease the...
