Need help with scratches on a used car that I don't know how agressive I can be...

Teenage drivers? Within a few months that thing is going to be covered with dings, dents, and scratches anyway lol.

Review: McKee’s 37 Xtreme Iron Remover

Are you ever going to clean a wheel without agitating?

Used a grinder near my corvette, now paint has hundreds on small rusty pits!!!

The kind of guy who grinds right by your corvette and ruins the paint ain't exactly the kind of guy to own up and pay restitution. Just something to keep in mind before you destroy your own sanity and the mood of the next 5 holiday get togethers.

Why did the clear coat fail like this?

Jeep Cherokee. I don't think they had notoriously bad clearcloat like Hondas or anything.

Why did the clear coat fail like this?

From a distance, this looks like staining from applying too much window cleaner or something. Up close, all these drips caused localized crows feet. What do you think could have happened?

What do I put over Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Coating?

Well the clear coat protects the base coat, the coating protects the clear coat, but what will protect the coating?!? We have to get a 7 layer paint protection burrito cooking before any real protection can be achieved!

    Nightmare on Detail Street

lol I'm sure he's thinking the same about you. We are a small niche in the industry. Most "detailers" are high volume guys who depend on speed to pay the bills. Grab a rotary, an 8" wool pad, and some rocks in a bottle. Why would anyone use thousands of dollars of european tools and take...

Griots Garage Air Pulse Cleaning gun Requires 8.97 cfm @ 90 psi flow rate...lol

I'm generally not a fan of the tornado type tools, but has anyone used this thing yet? I hate interiors so much I would actually consider upgrading if this was somehow much better than anything else on the market. Why do I have to go over every square millimeter of fabric 4 or 5 times, brush...

Anyone using Hose Slides when washing?

Please be sure you make an extra set for me! Sounds like a cool idea.

    Polish only horizontal panels?

I hear ya. It's very rare I have 8+ hours completely free to do a correction on my personal cars these days. I will often squeeze a couple panels in whenever I can and slowly work through the car over a couple weeks. Not really efficient, but you have to get in where you fit in.

Looks awesome. I bet the owner was thrilled. I would be. How long did you bake it for?

What do you keep in your pressure sprayer?

I just bought one of them fancy Kwazar compression sprayers and am not sure what I want to put in it. Once winter hits (ugh), obviously it'll be used for ONR pre-spray, but I still have all summer to tinker around.

I would just do it in the sun, but there are ways.

    paint film install gone wrong

I really need to add PPF installation to my skill set. Seems like that segment is profitable and growing.

    paint film install gone wrong

Most shops don't do enough ppf work to actually get good at it, but they are happy to use your car as a test bed. It's a bit of an art with a lot of little tricks to get it just right.

CR Spotless - Water Hardness Determines Resin Life?

Saltwater aquarium hobbyists make a lot of 0 TDS water and they almost all use reverse osmosis to clean the water before it goes through the DI resin (the most expensive part). The RO can actually bring the TDS down to 10-15ppm, which is pretty much bottled water at that point. The order of...
