2006 Subaru Legacy - Extreme detail - inside and out - Lots-o-pics - Waxin Willys Detailing

Re: 2006 Subaru Legacy Extreme detail - inside and out - Lots-o-pics - Waxin Willys Detailing The owner wanted the dealer decal removed. I used a hair dryer to remove the white lettering and then some Sonus APC to get the goop off. After that I followed with 105 to remove swirls and any...

2006 Subaru Legacy - Extreme detail - inside and out - Lots-o-pics - Waxin Willys Detailing

Hey everyone! Waxin' Willys was presented with quite the challenge this weekend. I had a 2006 Subaru Legacy come in. The owner wanted a full paint correction as well as the interior to be restored to "as new as we could get it looking." The car was dropped off Saturday night and I started...

    Worst/Best Spray Wax/Sealant over Collinite 845?

I sprayed a little bit of CG V7 on some spots where my 845 was fading a little (front bumper) and it dressed it back up.

    looking for the one go-to-wax

That other Collinite is this Collinite Super DoubleCoat Auto Wax #476 It's a good wax with a lot of durability, but it can be difficult to apply. 845 is also a great one

    cigarette smoke

It's a tough job, but you need to clean every interior surface...EVERY surface. Get the headliner good, I've found that a lot of the smoke attaches itself up there. I've only done one car with smoke odor and it wasn't that bad...some of the other members here might have more insight.

    Wheel Coating Performance Experience?

I don't really have any before/after pictures, but I can attest to Collinite 845 on wheels. I have it on my black painted wheels and it keeps the brake dust at a minimum and they will become completely clean with soap and water on a wash mitt.

    Removing scuffs from clear Carbra

Not sure exactly what your situation is, but I've used a DA on my clear bra with no problems. Took some swirls and scuffs out just like it was the car's paint. I used Megs 205 on it.

Photography 101 - The low down front grill shot

Good advice. But keep in mind with those large apertures, you should use a tripod. The focus is so precise at those numbers that the smallest movement forward or back can throw off the focus and lead to a soft image.

Photography 101 - The low down front grill shot

Great shots Mike. I'm glad you nailed the Shelby Cobra like you did. If you shoot it any lower it looks like a gasping fish. I would say it is one of the most difficult cars to nail when it comes to photography. I don't think you needed to be any lower. The lowest you ever want to get with...
