    How do you handle this?

I have had this happen many times when I was a mechanic. I found everything from drugs to loaded handguns in customers cars. The way my dealership handled it was to stop work on the vehicle, pull it out of the shop ,call the customer and tell them what you have discovered and tell them if they...

    DG 501 & 601 mixing suggestions

I ended up using crimson Hydro Tech pads. They worked well. I have some white LC pads in my shopping cart that I am going to get for using 501 and poli-seal. I really like seeing how much dirt is pulled out of the paint, very cool.

    DG 501 & 601 mixing suggestions

Well it finally quit raining long enough for me to do the truck today. The 4:1 ratio of 501 to 601 worked great. I used 2 ounces of 501 and 1/2 oz. of 601 and that was enough to do the entire truck including the topper. I was amazed at the dirt that came off on the pad after having just washed...

need wax removal advice....in a hurry...

Try wiping the car down with chilled water after removing the wax residue. This will help prevent "sweating" which is an effect you can get with some of these high end waxes. It looks like holograms but its just the oils from the wax. I have used AGHD several times. It's not the easiest wax I...

Microfiber Detergent is it really necessary?

I have only added it to the rinse cycle and it helps to ensure that all of the detergent is rinsed clean and will leave your towels feeling softer and fresher, IMO. Again, for a buck a gallon why not use it, it sure won't hurt your towels.

Microfiber Detergent is it really necessary?

I have noticed a difference in the softness of my towels over time when I use white vinegar in the rinse cycle. I don't measure it out, I just tip up the jug and give it 2 or 3 glugs when pouring. A gallon of vinegar is so inexpensive, I can't see not using it myself. Regular Tide for the...

Foam pads (Griots) not burning paint?

Foam pads are not designed for removing dried compounds or polishes or even wax. If that is how you have been using the tool, I believe you will be very disappointed. Have you researched the proper use of the Griots random orbital? Watched any videos on its proper usage?

    DG aqua wax

It adds a bit of protection as well. I am going on 3 weeks now on my truck that sits out 24/7 and it beads water like crazy.

    sheepskin or microchenille wash mitt?

I have both MF and lambswool mitts. I prefer the lambswool, the MF mitts feel a bit grabby on the paint to me. My DoDo wookie fist is my very favorite mitt.

Sighhh.. LC HT Pads failed again...

I am always careful when I remove the pad from the backing plate. I get my fingers in between the backing plate and the velcro on the pad and I pull from the bottom side of the pad with my fingers so I am not pulling on the foam but the entire pad. Keep scooting you fingers in tight to the...

    DG 501 & 601 mixing suggestions

Thanks Richy, not overly concerned with the pad choice on this vehicle since it is 10 years old and is used as a truck. My other cars are a different story and I will try the crimson pads first on them. The weather forecast is calling for rain again here in the St. Louis area for the weekend...

    DG 501 & 601 mixing suggestions

I will be using DG 501/105 and 601 on my full size extended cab truck this weekend. I plan on mixing them at a 4:1 ratio, 4 parts 501/105 to 1 part 601. My question is how much should I mix up to complete the truck? I will be applying with a GG DA and a Tangerine Hydrotech. How long can I...

    GTechniq products

I look at C4 in the same category as Cquartz & Opti-Coat in terms of durability and time saved.I can justify the higher price when a product lasts for a year or two or three. I like the time savings and peace of mind knowing my vehicle is protected with the best.

    Calling all UTTG users...

Mine has lasted a long time 2-3 months on trim. I do not use it on tires, I like Opti-bond 1:1 applied with their spray gun. I use it on my truck which is outside 24/7, driven on gravel and muddy roads frequently and washed at least 1x per week. I have been more than happy with it on my faded...
