ONR vs CarPro Ech2o for Rinseless Wash

it's been amazing to watch the spray (1 gl sprayer) on the side panels of the car and the crud just falls off. I've been using ONR in the Rinseless 2nd bucket and UWW at Rinseless dilution in the main/1st bucket.

Tried the Big Red Sponge today...

IMO, 'overnight' is a waste of time. Mix up your product, throw the sponge in and let it sit it sit for a few minutes, squeeze it a bit under water and then start using it. Even if the sponge is not totally wet (which, in reality, it will be), you're never going to press hard enough on the...

    Changing wax

Ultimately, he just wants to play w/ a new 'toy'. There is no good reason to apply 915 right now. Edit: Didn't see your response. Collinite lasts a looong time and you can back off the constant waxing. I use Collinte 845 and 476S and use Optimum Car Wax as a 'topper'.

    Help! Brake Rust on Wheels

Like I've said before, if you can afford to buy this week's hot new detailing product, you can afford $12 for a box of gloves. That looks like a sweatshirt, not a towel. Spray up-wind and no real need for a mask but again, $20 gets you a good organic vapor mask and it really should be used for...

Echo20 dilution all over the map

As I recall, the original label had a 1:5 or close to it dilution for waterless washing. A lot of people had streaking issues and eventually they (Carpro) changed the label and suggested dilution but apparently no one ever went back to the AG product page and changed it. I use the 1:15 for...

Is it possible to save this windshield?

you can try to minimize them for not too much $$ if you have a DA. Get some Carpro Cerium Glass polish and rayon glass pads. You'll need a spray bottle of water too to keep it moist. It's a lot of work and you'll only be partially successful at best. I'd love to see one of the coating mfg.'s...

    Changing wax

if you put it over that stuff, you really won't have a solid basis to form an opinion since what you see is a combination of several products. I'd suggest doing just the hood or trunk lid (or half of them) so you can compare. What if you don’t really 'like' it? All you'd have to redo is that...

Tire Dressings PERL vs Hyper Dressing D170

I use the green/black Chem. Guys applicator. Lasts about a year on 3 cars.

Tire Dressings PERL vs Hyper Dressing D170

Goonie, is that 1 coat or 2? Sorta looks too glossy for only one. I personally am a satin-y advocate. I like 1 coat.

Tire Dressings PERL vs Hyper Dressing D170

I've read many stories of PERL coming off if rained on once or twice. Personally, I'm a fan of Optibond, Gtechniq T1 or 303 tire balm

    Storing rinseless between washes

One thing to consider is 'will the GritGuard fit'. I *know* that the std. GG will fit 5 & 3.5gl but I can't say that about the small ones. Also, on the 3.5gl, the GG raises the minimum water level to 1gl (right to the top of the GG).

    Storing rinseless between washes

I have a bunch of 3.5gl buckets (often used for pool supplies) and they use the same lid as 5gl buckets.

Tried the Big Red Sponge today...

I'm a bit surprised there is enough lubricationfor the towel w/ just the remnants of the ONR wash and a couple of spritz's of OCW

Tried the Big Red Sponge today...

I recently asked Optimum about using PowerClean and they recommended 3:1 for bugs & tar but they also said it would definitely remove the LSP sealant/wax too. That included even higher dilution ratio 5:1.

    Poorboys SSR 2.5

Do yourself a huge favor and get a machine like the PC or the GG6 (GG6 preferred). Your arms are going to fall off trying to do it by hand and you'll get a consistency that is impossible by hand, esp. for a beginner. Not all polishes work well w/ microfiber disks so you may want to see what...

2 Tire dressing products. Questions. 3M & Duragloss

Also consider 303 Tire Balm, GTechniq T1 or OptiBond. Of the 2 you do mention, I'd probably go w/ the DG first.

Alternatives to Wolfgang Uber Perfekt Paint Prep

According to the MSDS sheets, the KleenStrip is mostly naphtha & toluene and the Opti product is just 99% pure isopropyl alcohol. No mention is made of any 2nd+ ingredients. If you get the Opti on sale, like today 2/23, it's actually less than industrial 99% alcohol

    Quick pad question

I use/like PoorBoys Tornado cleaner (have one or two others 'waiting' like the LC powder) but this is cheap and easy since I only use pads a couple of times a year. I do wash 'utility' towels separately from the super plush one I use on paint. I will often pre-treat them w/a spritz of Opti...

    SunJoe SPX3000 longer hose?

I use QD's everywhere. Much faster to deal with and like the previous poster said, the aluminum/green 'widget' w/ QD MALE is pretty rock solid. Quality QD's are available on AG or a 'variety' of places ;)
