Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

all the products listed use a covalent bond whereby the coating swaps part of it's structure (the hydroxyl group) with that of the paint - see here for details of how it works with C1 - similar thing with EXO. how the organic element of exo bonds to the inorganic element is a trade secret

Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

and afaik EXO is the only hybrid coating listed. it's a hybrid of the chemically bonding hard inorganic quartz base and an organic top layer that has all the nice function you get from a very expensive wax ie the slick feel, super wet look and great hydrophobic function. but none of the...

Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

as manufacturer of one of the coatings listed here I want to try not to speak out of turn. Just want to make the point that the reason we say our coatings (c1 and exo) last around 3 years - it's not that they will have been removed after three years - they bond chemically with your paintwork so...

    Gtechnic P1

hiya thanks for the interest in p1. our pSystem polish system (p1, p2 and x3 hotswap pads) is pretty different to most polish systems out there. as Rsurfer says - P1 is water based. it is non diminishing too. the key to this polish is that we have managed to source a very consistent and...

Review w/Video - Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass

thanks for posting :xyxthumbs: you could use panel wipe after g4 but it's not strictly necessary as you can remove the residue from g4 with a mf cloth and if it's hard to remove a damp mf cloth.

What is your faviorte wash mitt?

assumptions are just that - you assume that ours are the same because they look roughly the same. the fleeces we use are significantly different.

What is your faviorte wash mitt?

you're slipping on your impartiality there Cee Dog  fwiw there are significant differences between fleeces depending on burr content of fleeces, fineness of fibre, clumpiness of fibre, etc. there are several grades of merino. you have a justifiably big reputation on this and other...

not sure what DP Glass Restorer is (we don't get that brand this side of the pond) but regular glass polish won't remove the coating.

Review w/Video - Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass

you will always get spots with a hydrophobic coating and dirty water. but with g1 you should find spots are relatively easy to remove and if you need polish, it's not going to affect the coating.

Would any of the "coatings" companies back up their product in writing?

heh - two pints - tempting - couple of pints of ale would go down very well right now! 2p = 2 pence. regarding beading - absolutely right. we are in the process of running final trials of an extremely hydrophilic coating designed for the marine market designed to keep water spotting to a...

Would any of the "coatings" companies back up their product in writing?

my 2p on this. as a manufacturer of long life coatings we are asked this quite a lot. so how do you judge a coating is still on a car? beading? absence of beading only indicates that the hydrophobic ligands have stopped functioning - this could be something to do with a residue on the...

I need help- EXO? C1? or Opti Coat?

as above - don't think of any of these will make your car as scratch resistant as a crystal face on a watch. coatings such as c1 add some marr resistance but the dirt repellency and easy clean function of c1/exo make it so that you have to wash your car less often and with less force. this...
