    micro marring after polishing

I sometimes get "fog" after my usual final polishing step. Can't see swirls, but the finish is not perfect. Menzerna SF3800 takes care of it.

How to clean inside door and jambs

If you blast the door jambs with a power washer or garden hose, doesn't water end up in the interior?

Trying to shorten my wash routine - help

The ONR with wax works great. I don't know how long it lasts by itself. It really only needs to last until the next wash, but I know it lasts longer than that. It's an Optimum polymer, that's not chopped liver.

Trying to shorten my wash routine - help

Some combination of detailing brushes, paint brushes, foam paint brushes, keep playing with different sizes until you find one or two that work for your grill.

Foam or microfiber pad to apply wax?

I find it easiest to apply wax (sealant) by machine. It's faster and it allows me to apply a very thin coat.

Should I make the jump to a paint coating?

I applied Optimum Opti-Coat two years ago to the front half of my car. To this day, it is still shiny, looks great from a few feet away. However, the moment after I applied the coating, it got bird-bombed, swirled, tarred, sapped and hit with embedded particles just like any clear-coat would...

    Solution Finish and Wheel Wells

Meg's All Season Dressing is the Meg's product needed for wheel wells (and engines). It's a goopy oily mess and it has all kinds of unattractive characteristics. It does one thing well - it turns stationary black plastic/vinyl even blacker and it hangs around unless you work to remove it -...

I am an advanced car washer

You're business model fits your clientele, nothing negative about it. For your premium package, instead of using a machine wax, use an AIO like HD Speed. Voila, you are now correcting paint without doing anything different.

Iron X should everyone do it?

Personally, I just use it when I clay, and I only clay when I'm going to polish, which is 1-2 times per year.

    Hydration Detailers?

I don't detail professionally, but for athletics, I have to "force" myself to hydrate. Something like a gallon milk jug, filled with water. Keep it lukewarm so you can pound it. It's not necessarily an enjoyable experience, you have to guzzle it down.

    Polish wipe down quick question

Throw a little ONR in with your IPA/water mixture, takes care of much of the grabby issue.

I have not had that problem, two people getting different results, happens all the time, let's leave it at that.

What the Hell...cat - One bad kitty!

Nice work, the transformation of the tires alone probably made the customer happy.

    Towels

Agreed. The best way to never induce a swirl is to have an unlimited supply of clean towels. I own nicer towels, but only because I like them, not because I need them.

Anyone save rainwater for washing their car?

Thanks for the update. Do you do any filtering? Also, do you pump the water out of the barrel, gravity feed, or just dip a bucket in it?
