95' M3, my 1st attempt at detailing, the start!

Grew up in San Diego (La Mesa actually) and now live in sunny ol' Oregon. Only took 7 years to almost adjust :) Thanks for the kind words all. I can't wait to do the rest and see how much life the car has left, does that point to personal issues I should worry about? I figured the dish soap...

95' M3, my 1st attempt at detailing, the start!

The gallon of "ice" carwash was on sale for like a buck fifty or something rediculous. I only bought it to lubricate during my washing and knew it wouldn't matter as I wanted the car stripped anyway. Maybe I'll donate it to my daughters car washing needs~ Other products I used were a guzzler...

95' M3, my 1st attempt at detailing, the start!

Sealed with Fourstar UPC and UPP... pretty nice products. Not much of a change to my eye here but it "hid" alot of defects. Especially visable when you see the after shot of the hood from outside looking in, as in this photo. Huge change in my book. And now for the money shots of...

95' M3, my 1st attempt at detailing, the start!

Well this is my daily driver... finally moved into the same town I work in and after 10 years of commuting on I-5 I'm sorry to say I have a rock chip or 300. I decided to see what I could do with my car after finding these forums and making the tough choice on whether to keep her or get an E46...

    Bought a Dyson Vac

Run almost any vacuum over a cleaned floor and you'll get pretty much the same results. It's a famous "Kirby" sales technique. They'll never do the reverse test with your own vacuum and for good reason. I myself did the same test and was surprised. The Dyson is a good vacuum, so are the Hoover...

    Detailed Wheels and wheel wells

That looks like a fairly cheap Chinese brand. At least it looks alot like mine which is exactly what I described. It worked great for years, I decided to flush it and now it only goes up about halfway. Man, I'm bummed... tried filling it every which way I can think of too.

1st time polishing paint. What do you think?

The reliability is actually trending down from a very reliable peak in the 80's and early 90's to about the year 2002. Technology got added all over the place, things are way more tweeked than they ever were and it's hard to keep that performance edge in a street car AND keep it from breaking...

Need help on pad/paste wax application. Also PC 7336sp vs 7424

So what product do you guys think I should buy for pre-wetting?

Need help on pad/paste wax application. Also PC 7336sp vs 7424

So I see some confusion I created for myself. I should've said the new crystal mist stuff. Is there a much cheaper product that would be good for pre-wetting? Use Pinnacle Crystal Mist Carnauba Spray Wax anytime to bring back that just-waxed shimmer. Contains real carnauba wax in a easy spray...

Birthday code? Products to start with?

Silence is bad.... is there no birthday discount? Could've sworn I saw something mentioned. 24 views and no product endorsements or towel counts? I only have experience with a chamois. I've never used a MF product before so I was serious on a number or even some input on valuable sizes to own...

Birthday code? Products to start with?

Hi there, Been browsing for a few weeks and was wondering what some good starter products would be as far as sealants, glazes, waxes, tools etc. How many MF towels besides a guzzler does a person typically need for washing personal cars.... I'm not a pro? I'm gonna get a PC with a kit and...
