Ever use your detailing skill on something other than a car?

Stainless cook top gets cleaned and sealed regularly using detail chemicals. Sons 41" rolling tool box, he brings it to my house once a year, we steam it clean, polish and OC it. All 3 shower enclosures at home get cleaned and treated with KAIO every once in awhile.

Well since I live in So Cal, South Orange county to be specific this hits home. I am the definition of a serial offenders as every Saturday unless raining or the threat of rain I do 3 vehicles back to back. Only saving grace is I live in a private gated community so access is somewhat limited...

    Electric Impact Guns 1/2"

Modern Electric/Cordless impact guns have come a long way. My son is a tech for a Hyundai dealer and has a cordless Snap On driver that has 800 lbs of twist. It'll break stuff loose that my old Matco 1/2 wont budge. Good thing is he gave me my Matco back once he bought that.

    Menzerna critique

I use 106 for one steps, otherwise I use 85 for jeweling. I often combo 205/85rd. I agree PG is very aggressive, I've used it once and that finish was so bad sand paper would have been an improvement over the scratches, swirls, rids and holograms.

Amazing Roll Off, do you use it?

I use it on gelcoat on my boats whenever they get pulled out of salt water, No harm and lsp on them is DG 501 which it appears not to strip either. If that helps, not a clear coat finish but closest I've come to with paint. BTW if it goes on BOGO I buy the max each and every time to save the cost.

Hyundai & Kia overstate MPG, issue refunds

Interesting, they were part of the debacle in the late 90's over misleading horsepower ratings. Seems maybe they learned something from that or not?

1967 Ferrari GT330....times 2! A day in Carmel and Pebble Beach

Wow never seen that color before definitely a 1 of 1. That with the borrani wheels looks so nice. Did he happen to have the luggage set as well? Those with the tool kit are so sought after and worth big dollars. Grand tourers of that era are so nice. When I was a kid in the 70's I worked at a...

Is Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant supposed to not to be smooth to the touch?

Rule of thumb once an LSP hazes or drys it's ready for removal. Use the swipe test to determine removal. Me personally I apply to horizontal panels, hood/roof/trunk and then remove in same order, then one side apply and remove then the other. Seems to setup and haze in that fashion for me. I...

For the people who like to complain about Autogeeks shipping costs

Amen , my real job is a software developer and I work a lot with logistics based plugins for some major ERP packages, read fortune 100/500 clients. You should see the additional charges and we are talking on dedicated truck loads often mulitple loads. They pass every fee incurred right on down...

Clarification Please on Sealant + Wax then Quick Detailer steps...

Another option would be a rinseless wash like ONR for maintenence. It's so easy it's stupid, only needa 1 gallon bucket of water and some MF towels. Way safer to wash this way than QD IMO. As far as how longit lasts, if the car is garaged and kept out of the sun and rain for extended periods...

    sriracha aka rooster sauce

Use it or Franks Red Hot on just about everything. Favs are any potatoes, M&C and eggs. Just had some homemade shrimp curry with a nice dose. Have pork chops marinating at home with a blend of coconut milk, hoison, soy, a tablesppon of BBQ sauce and several shakes of sriracha for dinner.

    2012 C350 with OG

Damn I hope the wife does not look over my shoulder and see this. Her Arctic White 2008 C350 with the same panorama roof does not reflect like that. I'll be in big trouble, banished to the garage with polisher and chemicals in hand. Ours went the full DG route 501/105 but the decon maybe be the...

Ugh. Guy backed into my car at a stop sign

I would say as little as possible, actually say nothing other than the facts of the accident and only if asked. My wife is an insurance estimator, property damage residential and commercial, she can pick stuff out no one else would see, been doing it 30 years. It's funny because she was...

Ugh. Guy backed into my car at a stop sign

Sorry to hear about it. From the damage I would expect them to repaint not replace your bumper. If you Carfax your vin do you get the prior accident info, how do you know it was repainted once before, is there any proof? The reason I ask is if his adjuster is any good and found that was...

Pictures & Videos: 2003 Honda Civic Extreme Makeover - Duragloss

Thanks for the response, mildly curious if you had chosen the products for a different reason or just to keep it simple. I agree with the KISS acronym, too many times people complicate life's tasks. No worries on the paint job, was more of a comment than a question. I hear you on the dog...

Pictures & Videos: 2003 Honda Civic Extreme Makeover - Duragloss

Mike any reason why you did not use 105 but 111 instead? Wanted a sealant only as 105 still has some cleaners/abrasives? Glad to see DG products get some showtime, really underated product line IMO. Before pics paint almost looks like a matte finish. Not too impressed with whoever painted...
