First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

I have to agree with the above posts. BTW we have the same damn kid, did you ever visit SoCal @1990 or early 1991. Maybe my ex was a friend or too friendly depends on translation? Anyhow I'd say a bit too much pressure and a bit too much product will lead to pad failure similar to that. I'd...

Anyone know the active ingredient in Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss?

Material Safety Data Sheet. Describes the useage and handling of products, very common in manufacturing companies to have these so you know what to due or use in case of an accident.

Another Duragloss Success Story and a Question.

And AG needs to bogo 111 so we all can get some or more. I only have about an ounce left. I'll have to revisit it in a few months. One thing you can never have too much of is 601 IMO.

Another Duragloss Success Story and a Question.

I have used all 3, several times (501 a lot). IMO I go to 105 no matter what anymore as it just looks a bit sharper(the cleaners no abrasives like 501) and seems to last, I saw no appreciable difference in longevity between 111 and 105 when mixed with 601 but then I redo every 4 to 6 months on...

    Mazdaspeed3 or Nissan Maxima

Switiching all M platform cars to DCT only totally different animal than a true automatic. Also expect to no longer see NA M platform cars either. Sign of the times, technology trumps tradition.

    Windex to remove polishing residue

Did that back in the day, was a very common practice for body shop final prep to wipe down with window cleaner. But we also only had rotaries with wool pads that were closer to burlap than wool. Ah the 70's remember some of it well, not most of it :xyxthumbs: Flash forward to today and if...

    Meguairs Gold Glass Paste Wax

My vote is machine applied, remove from tin with a little heat into a plastic baggie or sran wrap and apply to pad then to paint. Thin and even application. Return remainder to tin for next application.

    Mazdaspeed3 or Nissan Maxima

Oil in the intake is common direct injection cars in this era as they commonly reroute blow by back to the intake, used by almost every one running DI setups, I would hoiwever caution anyone running catch cans on turbos motors to educate themselves before long term use. The increase the pressure...

Questions on Process/DG and PB Products

The DG products mentioned have some cleaning ability and will most likely remove the PB glaze. If you want a cleaner try 501 then 105 both with 601. If you want the glaze use a non cleaning LSP like the 845 you mentioned. My DD has 501/601 topped with 105/601 topped with 845. It's a white truck...

    Mazdaspeed3 or Nissan Maxima

Couple of perceptions or opinions here: 1) If you browse car based forums you will literally see the best and the worst represented no where near the average car is talked about. That opinion comes from years of being on make specific forums 2) My son is a tech for Hyundai and young(21) a...

    Help with CG Shampoo....

I personally use CG Maxi SudsII as a maintenance wash, CG Wash & Gloss once a month and Red to strip. You can get the Maxi Suds for $13 a gallon so it's really economical as a maintenance item.

Spreading a Paste wax on LC pad

Apply a litle heat to the jar and out it will come, I use a heat gun but you could use a blow dryer if you have one as well. With wax in hand(I wear nitrile gloves) spread on pad and apply away.

AIO by hand and should I stick to the same "family"?

Since you are doing this by hand you might want to research Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser as that was originally marketed for use by hand. IMO the main reason behind machine applying a cleanser is to make sure it is evenly and thoroughly worked into the paint surface. Not so easy to do by hand...

    One step polish methods

Have you thought of using DG 501 and the follow with DG 105? That's, IMO, the most cost effective approach as both are great values and when mixed with 601 you can follow back to back, Correct with 501/601, seal with 105/601 and you are good for 3 or 4 months kept outside. I use Menz 106 and...

Removing sticker residue from gel coat?

I do a few jet skis and always use a heat gun and then goof off. Works well. I strip almost all the stickers off if the owner is ok with that, all the dumb warning labels, only leave the manufacturers name and the emissions stickers so they don't get hassled in inland waterways in Cali.

Thinking of trying Menzerna stuff, is it worth the price?

Unless you have severe defects on your 2011 you wont need the IS1500. Add a sample of Wolfgang TSR to your order that should cover any small nasties. If you plan on Blacklight V7 then skip any glaze period as Blacklight is redundant to the glaze. Also I would do the Blacklight, V7 then the...

A spray wax that beads well

I use DG AW by the gallon, I apply every other wash and basically blow the water off but car is still damp, spray the AW and wipe it down. Works great for me shines even better the second day. I have used OCW in the past but had some streaking issues with the previous version, I need to buy some...

How long should a paint sealant sit before buffing it off?

I do a variety of things while waiting for the 45 cure to wipe off a sealant, most notably I start washing the pads I used. I tape up everything so opening doors and vacuuming isn;t happening and I do the glass last always. The keeping it dry is to not affect the cross hatching or curing of...

    New Hobbyist

Yep owned severl bimmers over the last 20 or so years, currently only have an 08 335i sedan, mild tune, intercooler, downpipes, drop in filter and factory first generation performance suspension.
