I do a variety of things while waiting for the 45 cure to wipe off a sealant, most notably I start washing the pads I used. I tape up everything so opening doors and vacuuming isn;t happening and I do the glass last always.
The keeping it dry is to not affect the cross hatching or curing of the polymers to the paint. Water will prevent that from happening or at least impair it.
