    First Paint Correction

It's done, check out the link for some pictures! I know everyone prefers to have them posted here, but I'm doing this from my phone. I took a lot of advice here and went with "least aggressive approach first" since this was my first shot at this, and went with all Meguiars Ultimate. It came...

    My first paint correction

I tried a lot of different wheel cleaners and polishes, and the only thing that touched that grime (and I'm sure I'll get some hate for this) was an SOS pad. Didn't leave a scratch, and took the crud right off. As for the paint, I decided to go with the "least aggressive method first" since...

    First Paint Correction

Ahh, it was worth it. I got a lot of good before and afters that will hopefully help sell the service, and I get to try a few different things without worrying about it too much. And, everyone knows how bad this guys car looked, so when it gets seen all shined up it's a rolling testimony of my...

    What to do with truck?

I agree with clay and then a one step cleaner wax. It'll be smooth and shine up nicely, which is probably what he's hoping to get.

    Orbital polisher help

I think wool should be ok for polish. I've never used it, but I know that's the old school way to polish.

    First Paint Correction

Alright guys, I'm doing my first paint correction on Thursday. The car is a dark maroon Special Edition Grand Prix. When it was new this was no doubt a great looking car, but it's been let go for a long time. It's a freebie for the guy who owns the car in exchange for a guinea pig no...

    It's T-shirt time!

I have a local guy that did shirts for a fight I had last year. For front and back one color print for 35ish shirts, he was $5.25 a shirt. Great quality print and shirts too. I'll definitely go back to him to get some business shirts done as well.

What is the black button thing for on top of Griot's 6" DA orbital?

Mine's brand new, so maybe whatever sucked about the old one has been fixed.

    Bogo Lake Country pad question

I've got 6.5's for my Griot's and it seems to turn them just fine. I know the preferred pad around here is a 5.5, and maybe it depends on your polisher, but mine's doing a great job. That BOGO on the 6.5's makes the decision a little easier too.

    Orbital polisher help

There's no reason you couldn't try it, I just wouldn't expect it to really knock out a lot of swirls and scratches. Give it a shot and met us know how it comes out, and make sure to take before and afters!

    Orbital polisher help

Your orbital with bonnets will do just fine for seal and wax, but you can't really touch a scratch or swirl with it. The cut in the pads you use with a DA or a rotary are what level the paint off and work out the imperfections.

    Clay bar on windshield?

I actually just clayed my windshield for the first time today and was amazed at how much crap I got off it. I used the same Meguiar's clay I used on the paint, and it was pretty awesome.

    Ink Stains

Well, maybe. The only thing I was concerned with was causing it to spread as I'm cleaning it up. I was kinda hoping someone had an idea of how to get it out of the fabric without soaking it down to the point that it wants to spread.

    Ink Stains

I had a customer bring me a Dodge Ram with tan interior and wanted some spot cleaning along with his detail. On the passenger seat in a crease were two dime sized spots that were hard to see. I sprayed them with the upholstery cleaner, and it started to run like crazy. I realized I just broke...
