    1st detail w/ro polisher

well, finished after working about 8 hrs not including wash and prep time. Learned a few things and had a few faux pas. Used WG swirl removal kit, and WG paint sealant. lc da ccs orange pad for the swirl removal and white for the glaze. used a red pad for the sealant (by hand). First, I...

    1st detail w/ro polisher

Well, I am expecting my shipment from AGO containing a couple pads that I will need to do my first ro polisher detail on my car. been waiting for this day almost all summer. A little nervous. I'll post up pics, but its a silver car and it is in fair shape so difficult to photograph esp. since...

    IRON X car soap

I would not think that you would want to risk it. Just tape off and protect from any overspray. No need to Iron-x polycarb or any other non-painted surface.

random shots in my parking lot

here are a couple of cars in my work lot that I thought I would click a pic of to show some surface issues. I guess just some typical swirl marks. Also find it difficult to see these on anything but a dark color.

    suggestions on aio product

Thanks, guess I'm still learning the purpose of each of these products. So, in future after I remove swirls, polish and seal and want to just use a single product to do light polishing and seal at same time is when I would look to an AIO? Also what is confusing me a little is that the...

Post a picture of your First car

1988 Pontiac Grand Am. bought brand new. This is not a pic of my actual car but this is pretty close. I didn't have pin stripes or rear luggage rack on trunk. I'll never forget how upset I made the sales guy. Even after I told him I didn't want the undercoat he still included it and did all...

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

OK, drum roll please... I am very happy with the results. Absolutely no milky areas and near perfect uniform coating. GP49, you may be right. I may never know exactly why I was getting that milky look but at least now I can move on in my headlight project.

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

OK, doesn't seem to be much activity on this thread as there once was but I am going to do my best to document my project if nothing more than for my own sake. I had a chance to remove the spar coating from the "bad" headlight and polish it in preparation for another go with the spar/ms mix...

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

OK, I'm officially frustrated. The good news is one of the two headlights came out ok, albeit with a couple little spots which I will describe with pics. Not sure whether I can just live with it, fix just the spots in question, or redo the whole thing. The other headlight however displayed...

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

OK, finally had a chance to coat the headlights for the (*cough*), third time. I mixed up my spar/ms to 7:3 and used foam brush. I got a nice even coat on both and they are now drying in my garage. I gave them a quick look over right after doing it and looks like it is going to come out this...
