    Wash and Wax?

    1) I work at a dealership and that is what they buy. 2) I just don't see how you can get a good clean on the paint when you have wax forcing the water and suds away from it. I think that washing should happen then wax, separately.

    Wash and Wax?

We use it at work but I won't use it on my own. PLUS, I think the wax makes the floor slippery. Hopefully we can get some other responses.

How do you approach dealerships and individual customers to details there cars

When I started I just started asking my friends if they wanted their vehicles cleaned and I gave them a super deal. Then friends of my friends saw their vehicles and were amazed. Then they called me. You have to have a vision, something you see in advance and are accountable to. You may...

    Wash and Wax?

Are Wash and Wax products a sales gimmick or backed by real science? If wax creates surface tension on the surface of the vehicle than how is the water and soap supposed to do its job? I have not spoken to any chemists on this but it just seems that the wax and wash would be working against...

    Business Cards Under Wipers?

I view handing out business cards as an investment. I don't give them out unless I am fairly certain I will get something back. If I got a note like that I would feel offended. Give your card to car dealerships and other people who can recommend your services. Rather than just placing them...

How do you know when to stop buffing?

Thanks Mike, I just noticed this. Thanks to this site I am learning a LOT about detailing and especially buffing. I recently purchased a Flex DA polisher from AG and really really like it. I have a question to add. Lets say I finished my buffing cycle (is this proper terminology?) and there...

Video: How to remove shallow RIDS and how to machine apply both a paint sealant and a finishing wax

Hi Mike, thank you for the great info. I have a question: I used a Flex DA polisher with a Smart pad (orange) using Pinnacle Swirl Remover then followed with Pinnacle wax applied by hand. The reason I did not follow the swirl remover with the finishing polish is because my friend did not have...

If You Had $5,000 to spend on Advertising What Would You Advertise With?

Do you have a website? Are you utilizing Facebook? Are you already an established business and just looking to reach a broader market? I live in a small town and have the luxury of being the only game in town. But I have people that drive almost 100 miles to have me detail their vehicle...

    How much to charge

I would do interior first. Will you remove the seats? I would take everything out of it (mats, personal possessions, etc) and put them in a box and then purge all the cracks and crevices with air. Make sure you blow out under seats if you don't take them out. Then detail inside so it has...

Help Me Get Rid of Brown Stain

Looks like rust or some sort of grease from the bolts. I would Google search rust removal techniques from carpet and if that doesn't work you might have to try bleaching it and then use carpet dye. I am surprised the fabric is not falling apart after that much cleaning.

    Paint droplets on vehicles paint

I will try what you said. Should I try a heat gun to warm up the paint if that doesnt work? It is pretty thick.

    Wall mount vac

I was looking at the Autobahn but not sure if I will like it. It is for a client of mine. I am helping set up his shop. I personally use a Nilfisk Alto vac that I really like. Lots of power and very quiet.
