    Is iron X really needed?

My wife’s new car has a bunch of “rust” spots all over the car. It’s blizzard pearl color. So easy to see. Makes me mad as I coated it last fall. I have ironX. My question is? will it harm my ceramic coating? I have a couple customer cars having the same spotting. All have ceramic coatings...

    Finishing polish suggestion

I use the crap out of megs m205. Always loved it. Still my go to. But I have been using CarPro essence lately with awesome results!! I have also been using a lot of Sonax perfect finish at one of the paint shops I do work for. They have a gallon supply left they want used up before we switch...

    Carpro essence plus pad selection

It think with both essence and plus, it’s a matter of using the right pads. I tried some Rupes pads with both and didn’t like the results. Switched to my go to lake country’s and worked great. Remember, plus has zero cutting ability. But on the right pad it can fix marring. Sent from my...

    Carpro essence plus pad selection

I love Essence and Plus. It’s a learning curve to use it compared to regular polish’s and sealers. A small amount goes a long way. I use Lake country HDO Reds and Black finishing pads with it. Excellent results!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some thoughts on Griots BOSS 21

I love my Boss 21. Have probably 500+ hours easy in the last year on it. I go back and forth using a Rupes MKII 21 and 15. Also have a bulletproof porter cable 7424. I almost can’t tell much of a difference between the Rupes 21 and the boss 21. The Boss actually fits my bigger hand better and...

    Daily Driver Best Protecting Wax

I have been getting a solid year out of Meguires #21 Synthetic sealant. Easy to apply and remove. This is in Michigan with crappy winters and hot summers. Some of my long time customers only ask for that as it lasts and gets solid water beading throughout the year.

    Ipa

I've personally started to go away from IPA mix. Once you start to use Carpro eraser you'll see why. Love the stuff. Also with ceramic coatings, some require a "primer" coating for best adhesion. With a primer coating, you are not doing a IPA wipe down or using Eraser prior to ceramic...

Glass Clening is driving me to drink

New cars have a lot of out gassing from all the adhesives and plastics. It can do that for over a year. Use an IPA mix with H2o. Some vehicles are worse than others with out gassing causing a haze. Make sure your microfibers are washed properly with no residue from any detergent. I use megs...

Which MF towels should I buy?

I've been using TRC for years. They are quality towels. The forest green edge-less microfibers that Auto Geek sells are also really good. Don't get too hung up on having a bunch of different styles. You could almost get away with only having two different types.

    Indestructible salt

I agree with this. Basically what I do. I feel I can get better results not using an extractor. Combine this with my steamer and it gets most stuff out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    ISO take ceramic off?

Element119/SystemX. We have been trying them because the product is able to be sprayed on. When doing large planes spraying is a must for time reasons. Anyone know of any other ceramics that can be sprayed on?

    ISO take ceramic off?

I coated an airplane last week. putting final stickers on using iso mix to get stickers to stick. When I wiped the area of the sticker the ceramic cake right off. I have never seen this happen before. The ceramic had cured for 7 days. The coating became very cloudy in the area. Easy to tell it...

Using MEK around new paint and coatings...

According to our painters and in house chemist, the fresh paint is out gassed after about 2 weeks when baked. It's about 3 weeks before I get to coat them. Most people are saying non baked about a month to cure. I've never seen an issue in 14 years of working in a shop with wax on fresh...

    Anyone have experience with MEK?

First post here. Been following for a long time. I have been helping an aviation paint shop do details. I ceramic coated a plane. After that they did a start up on it an it blew oil all over the whole plane. This is normal for a radial engine. The guys in the shop thought it would be easy...
