    Headlight Restoration: BMW 520

AMAZING photos! And great job on the headlights. Qaz393, that's not true at all...the factory coating needs to be FULLY removed before you apply any kind of new protection what-so-ever. And it doesn't matter what you use on plastic headlamp lenses...the hazing WILL come back, period. It's...

    Aussehen-Erneuerung eines Porsche 911

Very nice Charlie! I'll have to look into these sanding disks of which you speak! They seem VERY handy for removing deeper defects quicker than what I'm currently using. lol As of this point, getting faster at correcting is becoming very important to me. lol

Thanks Stephan. Next weekend is a white e30 325i that I've had to put off for almost a month now. The owner, I'm sure, is ECSTATIC that it's going to get knocked out now. :D

    O.C.Detailing (Lynchburg, VA.) 2003 Mercedes S430 - 32 Hours Correction NIGHTMARE!

Let's also remember...this car had Ceramiclear on it...Doing a car this size, by yourself and in this condition is a TERRIBLE decision. lol Luckily for me and my customers...I actually DO suffer from O.C.D. :D

    O.C.Detailing (Lynchburg, VA.) 2003 Mercedes S430 - 32 Hours Correction NIGHTMARE!

Yup! D300 and Surbuf 5.5" pads did ALL of this car. The key with D300 and Surbuf is SLOW PASSES and SMALL SECTIONS. Fast passes just uses a bunch of product and wastes it. D300 has an AMAZING work time and very little dusting!

AND some depth of reflection shots! And even a couple of the wheels, though I'm sure they're not many people's taste, they actually weren't too bad for chrome wheels: Wheels: AND parting shots!

    O.C.Detailing (Lynchburg, VA.) 2003 Mercedes S430 - 32 Hours Correction NIGHTMARE!

Now the AFTERS!! Remember...this was NOT to be a 100% correction, even though I'm pretty sure I couldn't have gotten 100% anyway, it came 100000% better than where it came from and the customer even commented that he wasn't expecting it to look THIS good when he got it back: A...

    O.C.Detailing (Lynchburg, VA.) 2003 Mercedes S430 - 32 Hours Correction NIGHTMARE!

Okay. So it's been quite a while since I posted any write-ups, and that's mostly because I took a full-time job back in IT doing support for UCB Bio-pharmaceuticals in Raleigh, NC. While there, I started receiving soooo many calls for detailing back here in Lynchburg, that I HAD to respond...

    What's the best/most dramatic correction you've done?

No disrespect taken at all! You're absolutely right about the models (the hoods and grills should have been the first clue), though I was positive that the blue one was a G110. You seem far more educated on these things than me, so I bow to your expertise. :D And thanks so much for the kind...

Is my cars paint destroyed? FL Love Bugs

I would go with a Griot's kit being as there is a lifetime warranty and the machine is MUCH more powerful than a PC7424XP. I haven't tried the Wolfgang products either, but I can say that I would DEFINITELY recommend the Meguiar's 105/205 combo over pretty much anything else, even the new Meg's...

this car is in the line up for paint correction

The FIRST THING I would do is KILL THE CAT SCRATCHING HER TRUCK! THEN I'd start wet-sanding out the deeper scratches and then I'd start polishing out the rest. Good luck. You're going to be there a while.

    What's the best/most dramatic correction you've done?

heh I'll play: 1987 Range Rover G110 (England Import) Before: After: 1997 Range Rover Discovery: Before: After: 2003 Subaru Legacy Wagon: Before: The INFAMOUS test spot that brought him back: And After: I've got TONS more. lol

    Help with Bugs Splatter Stains...

You'll just have to repolish your hood with an all in one or a light polish and reapply a sealant or wax. It happens to my customer's cars as well. Looks brand new when I'm done though. Bug guts are acidic and will etch paint, sealants or waxes very easily. It's a quick fix though. Shouldn't...
