His & hers 2022 Ford Escape SEL Hybrid AWD

We have the blue color on our explorer limited. Looks great when it's cleaned up and has a really nice metal flake. My truck is the "lightning blue". I currently have an F-350 on order in antimatter blue. Before that I had a blue jean metallic. Love ford's blue colors.

TV is starting to act a little buggy - Perfect excuse to get something new

I have an older Samsung LED in my living room. Love it. When it came time to build my man cave I wanted an OLED. Wife saw the price of a 65" and said "absolutely not". Instead, I went with a Sony 950 LED. Holy crap, it's amazing. The price in a smaller size isn't terrible and the lower...

    Welcome the G...

Scramblers were my favorite CJ. When the gladiator came out, I seriously considered one. Then I saw the price, and the realization that I already have a truck sank in. As for Ford, yeah, the bronco situation sucks. I have an F-350 on order for a month and haven't heard anything but in...

28ft Camper detail....1 step AIO..ballpark on how many man hours??

I took about 10 hours over 2 days on mine. I'd go for durability of protection over cut and make sure you can work with it in sunlight. I used the McKees RV AIO and wasn't really impressed with it. If I do it again, I'll be using Backfire or 360...

    New F250

I have a crew cab 150 in lightning blue. After owning a black explorer, that was enough. A black Super Duty would be a nightmare to keep clean. Plus I really like the way that carbonized grey looks. Especially if you do the blackout package. Either way, post pics. I'll be going to a super...

    AIO or other product?

Yeah, with some mechanical input, either from your arm or a machine. But clay or one of it's synthetic counterparts would do this as well. Bottom line, a quality AIO isn't going to take away much clear in 4-5 passes, give some correction and give some protection. I do an AIO once a year to...

    AIO or other product?

If you're not taking advantage of the correcting properties of an AIO, use a straight sealant. It's going to be much more durable.

    Travel Trailer Refresh

Marine/RV specific cleaner waxes or a product like BF one step would be the way I go for one reason: They can be used in sunlight. My travel trailer is fiberglass. The thought of trying to wax a stick and tin model like yours makes me physically ill. Another thought would be a good...

Checking in! Finally purchased my dream car! 2006 Viper

I don't know if it's the "Gurney Bumps" on the roof, or the color, or what it is, but that vintage viper is by far my favorite. Gorgeous!

5" thin pads on a PC will make it much more effective.

Sealant or wax for fifth wheel cap with decals

Radar, Trust mike. He knows his stuff. I have a 25' Rockwood mini lite and used McKee's RV one step last year I bought it because AG used to carry it, and it was on clearance. It did the job. Using a Porter Cable polisher and white CCS pads I went at it with no concern for the decals...

Ugh - Correcting Paint after "Dealer Prep"

Mother's all-chrome spray works great on all the chrome and shiny plastic on 150s.

Ceramic spray vs paste paint sealant.

I know it's a bit of an initial expense, but a polisher will get far better results in much less time than trying to do a truck by hand. Blackfire all in one is a really good product.

My First Time Using a DA - 2007 Kia Sportage

Good job! For daily drivers and those of us that don't do this for a living, AIOs are a great resource. It really will take a lot of extra work to get a little better results with a 3 step process.

Does detailing suffer from the public underestimating how much work goes into it?

When you are in a fringe service business, no matter what it is, people are going to try to discount your work. Be it a skilled trade, service, or all of the above. I only do this for fun, and for myself. I didn't have a lot growing up, but I never went hungry. My mom instilled me with a...

    TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES!

I've been promising my dad that I'd make his 16 F-150 look good since he bought it nearly 18 months ago. Thanks to a near death experience for him, a job change for me, and life in general, I finally got around to doing something about it today. I was just going to slap some sealant on it for...

Can I use any sealant over BF One Step?

Try a test spot, but I've never really seen the point in topping AIOs since they offer their own protection to begin with. My general rule is to stick with the same product lines when using more than one thing to make sure they play well together.

    CQuartz UK and a Jaguar F-Pace S

Nice work, Nate! I took advantage of the nice weather this weekend to get some sealant on my car and truck and the whole time I was telling myself "I should just take the time next spring to coat them so I only have to cry once". We've discussed the coating thing before, as we live in the...

Coyote Powered F150 and Dr Beasley Z1

Nice work! I have an 18 F-150 crew cab and even at "stock" height the thing is a nightmare to detail. I'm still on the fence about a coating because of the prep and I have hard water. AIOs have been my savior!

Your thoughts on 15,000 mile oil changes..

I change my F-150 and explorer every 5000 miles. Oil life is usually around 40% on the explorer, and 20% on the truck because I tow my travel trailer at least once a month. Reason I go with that: It's the "severe conditions" interval in both manuals. Both vehicles see about 10,000 miles a...
