Yeah, there's no telling if the dealer instilled the swirls themselves, at least that day. The previous owner religiously took the truck to the same dealer for oil changes and scheduled maintenance...it all shows up on the CarFax. I have to imagine they may have had it dealer washed at least 6 or 7 times. Scheduled maintenance being followed to the T is a good thing, but I have yet to find anything in the owner's manual saying to have a dealer wash the vehicle every 5,000 miles.
I can fix it by first stopping the ridiculousness of letting anyone but me, or any machine besides the one I am operating touch the paint. My larger concern was whatever they used as a coating...probably like psnt1ol said...nufinish or simoniz...affecting the decontamination/ claying/ polishing steps. They might as well have used canola oil as a vinyl and rubber protectant.
4+ inches of snow this morning in Ohio, but the process will start as soon as it's warm enough to use the hose, lol. I'll try to remember to get some before and after pics up here
