Can I use my DA to sand?

The difference between 'can' and 'should' is important here. Taking a rust spot down to bare metal? That's a hand sanding job all day long, IMO.

    Guess everyone makes mistakes?

Most of us are referring to your blatant call-out of a forum member on their workmanship on a hellcat: Sorry man, that's in poor taste no matter how you try to frame it.

    Guess everyone makes mistakes?

I think the spirit of the posts as it has gone on is in the right place. It helps to laugh at ourselves/admit our mistakes sometimes. Part of the process. Knocking someone else’s work and further pointing out that they happen to be a member here IMO is in poor taste. May just be me...

    Wax or sealant for daughter

Bottle def looks better. But...hyper seal is actually cheaper by almost 50% Opti: $24 for 8oz or ($48 for 16oz) Hyper: ($15 for 8oz) $30 for 16oz Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app

    Wax or sealant for daughter

I’ll have to get through or give away this bottle of opti seal and give hyper seal a try in its place. Haven’t tried opti seal as a drying aid yet, but the optimum line really works well for those quick hit not-super-dirty jobs. Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app

    Question about coatings

Also seems excessive, but typically I think coatings have a harder time sticking around on glass. Most glass coatings are recommended at 2 layers on the windshield and 1 layer on side windows due to the windshield receiving the most abuse. Again, I don't think it's necessarily bad to put 3...

    Question about coatings

I don't think you're missing anything. I do think, though, that after a while you start to hit the law of diminishing returns as Guz said. The coating should always bond to itself, even up to 8 layers as mentioned above but the question really is, is it worth it. Everyone's familiar with that...

    Question about coatings

that seems quite excessive. Most coating manufacturers recommend 2 coats max, unless it's a 2 part coating like Gyeon Syncro, Kamikaze etc. where you could end up with 4-5 total layers.

Torn on decision for 2016 Suburban.

I know it was directed at Eldo, but I'll chime in with my wheel arsenal. I have a lug brush, a sofftened flag tip-ish (only that way because of repeated abuse) brush for the wheel faces and easy to reach pockets, as well as a speedmaster type brush for the barrels. I also bought a 3 pack of...

Does anyone use Meguiar's D143 to clean carpeted floor mats?

Not something I'd advise for carpeted floor mats. Having seen what it does to remove old dressings and browning from tires I might be tempted to give it a go on plastic/rubber all-weather mats...but even then a dedicated degreaser or APC is probably the safer/better choice.

    Wax or sealant for daughter

Yeah, but....the real question: Is there any difference between the two to warrant the cost/branding difference?

    Guess everyone makes mistakes?

Sh*t happens. There's always something. Mine typically tend to be product residue that I forget to wipe off the vehicle after an AIO job. Or my favorite, getting the car totally done then finding that one scratch, go to hit it with the polisher quick and hit the button too soon and sling...

Dashboard spots.I think I ruined my interior

I think you guys are missing it. I think the GS300 is the rare one in Europe here. They were sold outside the US as Toyota Aristos. A lexus outside the US is rare. OP, I used to have a 2001 GS300. You most certainly 'flattened' the coating on the vinyl with the magic eraser. This is why I...

Torn on decision for 2016 Suburban.

I like hydro blue as a maintenance/sacrificial product. I did powerlock on my truck and then hydro blue after a maintenance wash a couple weeks later. Great for wheel protection in lieu of a full on coating or sealant applied to them. I would not use it as a standalone product, however.

As much as I love Optimum's products, I just can't wrap my head around the OPT vs Opti-Coat product line thing. It makes no sense to me.

    Wringer

define affordable? I personally have always been shocked at just how much towel wringers go for. Every one I've seen is $100-200 for a couple rollers attached to a bracket with a crank. Crazy!

Torn on decision for 2016 Suburban.

On a Burban? Wouldn’t be caught dead. 3” polisher is your friend here. Did a 14 Escalade and a 12 GLK last weekend. 5” fit between the ridges and a 3” on top of them. I would probably put a little product on the edge of the pad and scrub up against the vertical sides of the ridges just to hit...

    Wax or sealant for daughter

For what it’s worth I hated applying opti Seal but I haven’t tried it as a drying aid yet. OCW is still beading very well on my truck. I’m fairly certain the power lock from oct/nov is gone so it’s the only protection that’s on there right now. Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline...

    Wax or sealant for daughter

Send her a bottle of Optimum Car Wax and a few MF towels. That's what I'll be doing for my family members that need no-brainer car care help.

    Polishing Dr. ColorChip

I would be wary of it unless it's had a LONG time to cure or has been IR baked. If you get too aggressive polishing it, you could pull it out of the defect altogether.
