Sounds like a good plan. Let us know how it turns out!

    Dodge DEMON Released...

I think the body style is going in the right direction. The previous models have all looked bloated (similar to the newish Camaro). At least with this the fender flares bring things into proper proportion, and the front spoiler lip gives it a nice line. I even like the hood scoop, which I think...

I'm not a fan of Hydrotech pads. They tended to fall apart on the first session when I used them. The ThinPros are a huge improvement. As for what you were looking at, the tangerine Hydrotech are very mild. They have a little polishing ability, but not much. But they would put a nice gloss on...

Help and info needed for detailing a 71 Nova

Hey dc. Welcome to AGO! That's a mighty fine car to take care of. I'm not an expert on paint from that era so I'll let others chime in with advice. There are several guys here who know those muscle cars well. my only experience was riding around in them back in high school. :) Its possible you...

Light swirl removal without breaking the bank (or learn to live w/?)

Honestly, you can polish an entire car with one pad. It'll just take you a lot longer because you'll need to stop regularly to clean the pad and let it cool down a bit. And the cheap DAs (HF, for example) will do the job. It might bog down a little easier than the pricy toys, and probably will...

    Ventablack. The world's blackest black.

Reminds me of the ship Zaphod Beeblebrox steals in the The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe.

Bad bottle of Fast Correcting Cream

I got a bottle of FCC just last week. I didn't check it until now but it's pretty thick. Nothing like M205.

Meguiar's Fast Finish - first impressions.

I agree completely. Looks great! Of course you'll be redoing it all soon. LOL

Has anyone ever heard of this?!?

    Maybe that's a Camaro/Fiero hybrid.

    Boss GG 5.5 Pads

You only need one waxing pad (or just wax by hand). If you don't already have a waxing pad (a flat LC pad will work fine) get one black ThinPro. Then get 2 or 3 white and 2 or 3 orange ThinPro. Or the comparable pads in the Boss line. That should cover all your bases. Personally, I'd get 3 in...

    Boss GG 5.5 Pads

Thicker pads are more prone to stalling. Thinner pads are more susceptible to heat build up. But both can be managed fine if you work within their constraints. But the general trend seems to be toward thin pads since they offer a little better control on curves. The only real difference I see...

    Boss GG 5.5 Pads

I just received an order of Boss 5.5" pads for my GG6 but haven't used them yet. In the past I've used LC flat, Hydrotech and ThinPro pads. . I didn't order the white pads (heavy cut) because I have some gray ThinPros that should be similar. By the way, I am a big fan of the ThinPros, but the...

    IPA wipe down

Here's my method.... Wash. Clay. Polish. IPA. Wax. No real need to IPA before polishing, but you can if it helps you see how your correction is going.

A real conundrum (may purchase a car)

I think the lesson here is if you're going to offer to buy someone's car, seal the deal before you detail it.

    Oldest daily driver

It's great seeing other people who love their older cars as much I do mine. And what I really love is not having a monthly car payment for over 10 years.
