Since it's been 11 years, I'm guessing he doesn't even own that car anymore.

    New DA polisher question

Polishing will definitely take the wax layer off. So, if you do polish, you'll need to wax again afterward. Waxing is always the last step (aside from quick detailing sprays on occasion).

Alternative uses for a DA polisher!

I was thinking of using mine to clean my bathtub but haven't actually tried that yet.

    My morning at the dealership....

It's very rare, but there are some dealerships that actually have a good detailing team. The one and only new car I've ever bought was a brilliant black Audi A4. The dealer had to locate a car for me so the deal was essentially done before I ever saw the car. The day they called me in to take...

    Headlight Hologram Mystery

I agree with Route246. I had a similar issue with my Audi headlights a couple years ago. I had to go back to wet sanding to get rid of the holograms. After that, and M105/205 it came out perfect.

Sweet dreams summer tires, see you in the Spring!

My snowshoes went on a week ago. Yet I still managed to wash the car today. But I think from now until March I'll probably have a gray car instead of blue.

    Pads for Griots 6" Da

I destroyed many pads when I used a LC 5" backing plate on my GG6. Switched to the vented plate and the problem went away instantly. I think the reason for their early demise (sometimes they only lasted 1 session) is that my cars typically have rock hard paint and would require a lot of...

    Minimum temperature to apply WGDGPS

Thanks. I did some searching and found a few comments that the product isn't very sensitive to heat variances, but needs to be protected from condensation during the 12 hour cure time.

    Minimum temperature to apply WGDGPS

This week the weather is going to be in the low 40s here in WI. I was planning to do a quick detail job on my car in the next week before the snow starts flying. Then I realized I would have time to do a full detail this week (which it needs) that I had originally expected to put off until...

Brand New 2017 E400 Sport Edition

Nice! That new blue is almost exactly the same as my 12 year old BMW. LOL

New FLEX Tools Introduced at SEMA!

Cordless is new. That makes a bigger PR splash. Doesn't matter if it's actually better. Personally, I think a refined 3401/XCE would still be their bread and butter. I'm much more interested in that than the cordless toys. But if it's not in the AGO store by next March it won't matter. That's...

Shelf Life of Boss Polishing Creams

Probably about the same as most products... about 5 years, give or take 5 years.

Polish before waxing - do I need to every time?

I personally would polish after every claying, which I do twice a year. Otherwise, I don't polish any more often but I wax about 6 times a year.

New FLEX Tools Introduced at SEMA!

Ah. "Later in the year" (not sure if they mean this year or 2018) a cordless 3401 version will be announced. I'd line up to buy one of those!

NEW FLEX Cordless Polishers debuted at SEMA!

Re: NEX FLEX Cordless Polishers! So, two batteries included with battery life of 30-40 minutes with an equal charging time. Not bad. But no forced rotation unit.

First time using a DA polisher experience

My last car was silver, and while not my top choice, it looked pretty great after it was properly detailed. I'd agree that Griots Fast Correcting Compound is much better to work with than M105. Yes, you theoretically could get decent results with one pad if you kept cleaning it... except for...

Restoring/Protecting Audi Polished Aluminum Sport Mirrors

The S4s of that era also suffered from steel uprights in the front suspension that added about 400 lbs over the aluminum version. So another two pounds in the mirrors was a drop in the bucket. But man, those mirrors are worth it when you see them on the car.

A small strip of silver duct tape would work just as well.

Moro Blue Audi A3 - Detailed by Lawrence

Omg! That owner sure got their money's worth. Hopefully they'll stop 'cleaning' it with a Brillo pad now.

First time using a DA polisher experience

Megs Ultimate Compound, sold just about everywhere, would be a better choice for a beginner than M105 since it has a longer working time. And a major rule of mine, if the pad and compound isn't getting the necessary results, it's a waste of time to keep doing it on the whole car. Stop and...
