New Audi purchase - allow dealership prep/wax or no?

No, absolutely, positively not. At most have them prep the interior & just pull the cloth cover. A mechanic has to do a pre delivery inspection & they need to remove the cover to do it. Do not let them wash that car. I used to work for a dealer group that owned an Audi dealership. What I...

    My car is getting resprayed

They should provide you with a finish exactly like you had before. Audi's generally have good orange peel free paint. That is what you should get back. Ask if they are going to remove bumpers, mirrors, and moldings before they paint. A lot of shops just tape around those areas. You want the...

    m205 white pad

You should still have plenty of clear unless someone has really given that thing hell before you bought it. If you wash it properly, you will rarely have to polish it

    Just ordered gg

GG is a great machine. Get more pads & microfibers. You will definitely need a wax or sealant. It wouldn't hurt to grab both. I always feel like I need more pads. My favorite is the Meguiars microfiber cutting pad.

    Need Help With Holograms

Some paints are tricky and don't get along well with a rotary. Maybe you need a finer polish and less aggressive pad. I used to be a die hard rotary user. I have 2 da polishers and a dewalt rotary. I'd say the rotary has been used less than 10 times in the past 8 months. I would strongly...

Your Brief thoughts On Megs Solvent

I'd like to get my hands on some to try it. I use a solvent made by a local company in my area and really like it. I always like to try meguiars comparable products to the stuff my local guy makes. Everything he makes is very good, but meguiars products are generally a bit better...

    New here...and scared

Don't be scared of clay or polishing. Yes you can mar the paint, but that's what polishes and compounds are for. Buy a DA polisher and some pads. I have never burned paint with a da. If you enjoy interior detailing, you will probably fall in love with paint correction. Look around the...

    pads delaminating advice.

I have never had a Meguiars MF pad delaminate on me. The older version of the pads did turn egg shaped on me though. I have used a pair of the new version made in the US and they have been outstanding. They've been used on 30+ cars and are still going strong.

    Business vs Detailinng

I just say: this scratch is too deep, I can probably make it look better but will not be able to remove it 100%. Keep it simple as possible.

    New to detailing

Meguiars microfiber cutting pad & lake country white flat pads. I generally don't really need outside of those 2 pads unless I get some finicky paint. Grab some ultimate compound & ultimate polish from walmart. You could probably get all of that for about $50. I like to rotate my pads out...

*Yellow street paint on my car, No Idea how to take it off*

I've used gasoline before and it worked. The only reason i used it was because my ex boss was going off because i couldnt remove it. I'm not sure how safe it is, but it worked. I had to polish the area after and it looked great. I just don't know what the long term effects are.

Below Average Condition Interior (Up Charge)

I absolutely despise vans of any variety. I've detailed since 99 and could probably count on one hand how many I've done that were in decent shape. I swear if I am ever financially comfortable enough I will never touch a van again.
