    Why negative comments?

Trolling on YouTube is basically a sport for some. A bunch of wankers basically posting from their mom's basement to see if they can rile the content providers in most cases. You can always lock down comments, but nothing will be done about any comments on YouTube, so it's a breeding ground...

Nanoskin or SM Arnold or ??

I let mine sit too..until this morning. Had to clean black daily driver that's pretty beat. Holy crap! Broke out the Glide and mixed it, and put down the fine pad with the PC. It slings some, with too much water down on the surface, but the time you save is huge. It's pretty easy to figure...

    Starting a Detailing Shop

It'd be nice to have your own garage keepers policy and liability even if there's a possibility that your friend's insurance would cover you. It could keep the grayhound tracks off of your back if something were to go wrong. It would also help you garner business with folks who ask whether or...

Chart of Accounts, or Don't Wait Until Tax Time To Figure This Out

I'm posting this in the How To Make Money forum because it would seem that keeping the money I make is as important as making it in the first place. I hope this helps someone not do what I did. This is the current chart of accounts that I'm using in Quickbooks Pro (QBP) and I'm refining it for...

Looks like adobe has changed the rules now that they're on a subscription base and made it so that you can xfer the license from student to commercial. I like CS5 and LR3, but shoot a lot of high-volume stuff and mainly use LR3. CS5 comes in handy for little stuff, but I feel like I need a...

    Photography Decisions - Help!!!

You might reconsider the student version or at least familiarize yourself with the update rules. IIRC, the student version cannot be updated to a regular version.

    Photography Decisions - Help!!!

Lightroom was a good buy at $200+. You'll enjoy it. I run around 14,000 keepers/year and couldn't manage them otherwise.

    Photography Decisions - Help!!!

Lightroom. Chances are that if you don't already have it, your hard drive may look like something from Hoarders. The advantage of it is its ability to catalog, keyword, name files (YYYYMMDD_filename) and organize what you already have.

My Horizontal Light for under $45

Here's a stand that I found last night at the big box. The light fixture should mount right to the flat part and allow for plenty of light angle and height adjustment.

My Horizontal Light for under $45

Joe Edelman has it set up pretty well. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBPDSBCoN2c&feature=relmfu]DIY Fluorescent Photography Studio Lighting - Part III - New T8 Bulbs - YouTube[/video] You can skip through some of the modeling stuff and he shows all of the parts.

    need suggestions

I'm doing mobile right now at a dealership body shop and the fall temps just plain suck. I'd say if you can get a space, get in there and hammer away. Your deal there may only last as long as the current manager, so consider it short term and get on it full throttle. Sales may slow a bit this...

    Window Tint Residue

Sprayway does well too. The trick is to spray it on and wait a few minutes to let it break down the glue a bit. It'll drip/run and be a little bit of a mess, but nothing that isn't manageable or won't clean up. When you run the razor blade across the window, the window cleaner will pile up...

    What do you wear?

Going to risk potential derision/ribbing for resurrecting this old thread on threads, but I found a good belt buckle option recently and figured someone else could benefit from it. Some of you guys might be lucky enough to live near a Cabela's store, but others will have to use the web. Search...

    Honda Pilot

Looks great. There's a lot of surface area on those Pilots. Had one recently with grass in the carpet in the back. Sheesh, that new cheap/thin carpeting that Honda is using loves to snatch up small pieces of grass and pull it down when you vacuum it.

At what point did you decide to go ALL IN?

Went all in on the day that I got a surprise layoff notice at the body shop where I was working. Of course, I started the business and still technically work -at- the same place, but now it's my gig and I clean cars as they leave the body shop on my schedule. Dropped 25 hours a week from my...

    Craigslist Search Feeds

I don't know how many folks use craigslist to search for used items or items that AG doesn't carry, but I use it often since I'm building up my work van/business right now. Some may wonder why the things that they are looking for are always gone by the time that they see them. I would argue...

    Autozone microfiber?

Use them every day on everything. Due to their size they usually ride the Glassmaster and handle odd jobs. Just snagged a pack of larger ones from a local big box also.

You might see if the body shop would like you to clean cars after repairs. That's what I'm doing now at a union shop. I get $40 for a wash, windows, vac, and clean the compound out of the cracks. Don't sound like much, but I cleaned 96 cars last month. The deal that I have with them is the...

Working out of a body shop question. Please help!?

+1 Also, you may find that their office just wants a monthly invoice of what you've done. That's the way the body shop that I work with handles it. I give them 1 invoice every week and on the 7th of the next month, I get a check. Get ready to clean some wicked baked on compound out of the...

Glass Master Pro on Civic Windsheild?

I was able to test it on an 08 Civic yesterday. Going in straight forward it gets stuck about an inch back from the bottom of the windshield. I was able to wiggle it into position from the sides, but I had to really work it. Overall it has really worked well and I would venture to guess that...
