    Convert PC 7424XP to 3", or buy Griot's 3"?

It is not better than the PC, it is just easier to control. Use the proper pad and tool combination and should have good results.

    Remove oxidation on engine cover

I have seen this thread before and will give it one more shot. I just finished using Sonus Trim & Motor Kote on the under the hood plastic. Prep was minimal -douce with APC, agitate with brushes and flood rinse with low pressure water. Blow until completely dry (very key). Spray on the STMK...

    Convert PC 7424XP to 3", or buy Griot's 3"?

I have both and find it usefull when polishing. The 3" with Thin Pro Pads does a very good job (does get a little warm when running longer times). I try not to exceed each machines limits. Don't try to polish out the whole car with the 3" (the PC does that better). I tried 3" on the PC and...

    Dry eraser markers

A grease pencil would be the best bet. You can get different colours from a hobby or art supply store. I have white as my car is dark brown. Use it all the time when I'm correcting my hood (daily driver).

    Ceramic coating and vinyl stripes

I had shiny black stripes on the hood, roof and trunk. They were about 8 inches wide and two side by side. I tried Ceramic Coatings, Sealants and Waxes. Nothing seemed to work for very long and correction polishing could not really restore defects. Decided to have them painted on with single...

    Removing Plasti Dip From Rims

If less than 6 coats will be a problem peeling as too thin. I did not get good results with Goo Gone on 4 coats. Xylene will desolve it on contact. However it also is hard on paint so use with caution and don't let sit on paint to long.

How to best remove wax and sealant from black plastic trim?

I just did inner fenders with "over spray" and dirt. Very "un black". Went right to laquer thinner. Takes off everything (go easy when you see black on your shop towel). Put on a little Black WOW and looks like new.

How to graduate to different products?

I think the question was to how to migrate to different products. So the only way is to test new vs. old while you still have some old. I try new stuff all the time but only on my own car, so takes a long time to use up. So best bet is try test spot with old stuff and if not good test new. I...

No short cuts worth taking when wet sanding

Just did another bunch of stone chips in hood. Painted day before to get above the surface blobs nice and dry. Hand sanded with 1500 grit to level areas (about 8 spots). Used the trizact pads on my 1 inch rotary Nano to remove the previous sanding marks. 4.5" orange pad with Optimum Hyper...

No short cuts worth taking when wet sanding

Recently had my driver's front fender painted. My body shop guy is great and doesn't buff out his work, instead he challanges me to make it better if I chose. He always sprays extra Clear so I can play if I wish. So the fender had some minor orange peel only visible to me. Wet sanded 1500...

HD Speed, just want to double check some stuff here.

With AIO products in general I use lots of product and more pads. I prime by coating pad completely with thin layer of product and spin it on the paint for 10 seconds, then add 3 pea size drops of working product. Lower speed on DA (4-5) and clean pad after each section. Usually three pads...

    Wheel Delamination

De-lamination of clearcoat on wheels is almost always due to water penatration. On factory finished wheels this is normally a none issue as they use special process and products. The moisture can enter the clearcoat from hot brake dust hitting the wheel while driving in the rain for example...

    Freshly repaired wheels

I have painted my wheels lots of times. They are air dried, not baked (hard on tires). I sand, compound and polish next day. I don't seal for 30 days. Mine are rotated summer and winter so I do in off season so no road rage. If the wheels are on the car you are going to get dirt and brake...
