If the plastic is coated/painted, I'd suggest treating it the same way you would the painted metal panels. Most of the specialty plastic products I've seen are for uncoated or black plastic trim.

I've noticed the same. Store was out of Gold Class so I picked up ICE. Seems like it has ample lubricity, foams well in the bucket. Doesn't stay foamy on the car long enough though.

Reverse osmosis is pretty slow. Takes a while for the water to go through the process and into the tank. I'd make sure if you go this route you have a big enough tank and enough time to fill it up in between uses.

I tried it in my car, it was a pain. Very sticky (like honey) and my leather is mostly coated, so it didn't seem to help that much.
