Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System

Thanks! I use Mike's technique of the terry cloth towel to eat up the spent polish on the pads. Thanks! Hmmm....may save up some cash to get 4 each when the time is right. It IS off season (for me)...:p

Polished/uncoated Aluminum lip. How to protect/shine?

What kind of coating are we talking about? I have Menzerna power lock I use on all of my cars paint that I work on. These wheels won't touch salt. Only used during 'nice' seasons. Have my beater wheels for that. :p

Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System

Mike, So would these thinner pads make my GG6 more effective? Will also it 'cleaning better' and 'not heating up as a thicker pad' as someone said here make me not to have to use 3-4 pads a car and say maybe '1-2' per car then? I want to get some to try out also. I am thinking of getting 2 of...

Polished/uncoated Aluminum lip. How to protect/shine?

Hey guys, I've used the search function and got a lot of good info, but most of it was for FULLY polished/exposed aluminum wheels. I am getting my wheels back from the wheel shop with just 'polished' lip. These are for a Mercedes and as you may or may not know, Mercedes/Euro cars tend to...

How do I clean my 'wax' pad with Menzerna Power Lock?

How does it turn out after going into the wash? I did that in the past, and the pad came out a bit fresher, but still with residue inside of it. Is my expecations wrong? Should I not be expecting the pad to be like my 'polish' pads that are almost brand new when I clean them? Yea--I tried...

How do I clean my 'wax' pad with Menzerna Power Lock?

Mineral spirits, huh? Hmmm...where could I get that? At the local hardware stores? Is that safe to put down the train or should I do this in a bucket? What's the exact process? It's amazing how the PL has held up. It's as if I didn't have anything at all in my sink! It's almost scary and...

How do I clean my 'wax' pad with Menzerna Power Lock?

Sooo....I read on here some tips on how to best take sealant off my 'wax' cause of being the newb that I am, I read some bad advice somewhere adn was told to never wash my 'was' pad for my DA and instead just use it when I am applying wax and when not, keep it in a baggy. I am pretty sure this...

How to clean your foam pad on the fly

Mike, first off thank you for creating this thread/sharing this technique! The results I got after including this into my process has changed the game for me! :) My next question is, do I do this with MF pads? I was told to clean them with compressed air on the fly with the machine on to...

Nanoskin Autoscrub pad failure - Bad customer's service from them

Yep! I will shop here more for sure! I already bought some stuff as a birthday present to myself...and I was VERY impressed with the package, eye for detail in acre with packing peanuts, even down to how careful the receipt was handled which sometimes gets thrown into the box and bent up or...

Nanoskin Autoscrub pad failure - Bad customer's service from them

    1. Unfortunately I purchased it through Amazon. :( Wish I bought it through you guys though! 2. GG6, with the plate it came with that fit the nanoskin pad. 3. I stored it in a plastic container that's sealed with all of my pads. 4. Photos: I used this really, like 2-3 times before I...

Nanoskin Autoscrub pad failure - Bad customer's service from them

Yea! I actually called directly...and got the lady's email address. She told me to send HQ pics of the pad and the issue and email it to them. Since then, I never heard anything. HORRIBLE! Bummed I bought it, used it 2-3 times and now can't use it again because the hook and loop system is...

Nanoskin Autoscrub pad failure - Bad customer's service from them

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has dealt with them before? I contacted them in September because I had a nanskin pad that failed on me. I was working with them to see what they can do, and then I just never heard from them again! Bummed...cause I only used it a handful of times and the...

How to wash pad covered in wax?

Thank god I found this thread!! I read somewhere else to keep the same pad I use in a plastic baggy and to avoid washing it. I wonder if it may have mold on it? I use the Menzerna powerlock and now the pad has just gotten so saturated and 'heavy' that it hit me, 'I'm doing something wrong...

    2011 535i - Black - Need help! Finishing tomorrow

All in all, I think it came out pretty great! :) First, I washed the whole car with CG's citrus wash to degrease/dewax and help take any crap off. I then went through the whole car with my nanoskin 'yellow' 'clay' pad through the whole car. I used the T.R.I.X. tar and embedded break dust...

    2011 535i - Black - Need help! Finishing tomorrow

Thanks! Dr. Color Chip sounds interesting...may have to use it on Mom's car because there are like 1 or 2 rock chips to the metal. :( Sorry--I meant I used a terry cloth towel to clean the foam pad every pass.

    2011 535i - Black - Need help! Finishing tomorrow

Thanks! I did the 'line' trick already on the pad. It's rotating...I'm just putting a good amount of pressure on it! I think you're right. I will try it again and report back hopefully this weekend. No rock chips. Feint 'slashes' in the paint that didn't come out with the pad/PF2500. Thanks...
