Harbor Freight DA Polisher - New

Haven't seen the DA yet. I bought their rotary polisher which looks the same (besides color) as the Makita 9227c & the Hitachi SP18-VAH. Same specs as the Makita but the Hitachi has an 11amp motor not 10.

    Headlight Restoration Finishing Polish

Are you using any sealer on them or just polishing by hand as a last step? In my experience if you just polish, the lights will begin to dull within a week or two as the polish wears off. I agree with SeaJay that polishing by hand is probably not cutting it. I would use a rotary or at least a...

    Black Cherry Honda Del Sol

A few after shots of a paint correction on a Honda Del Sol I did a few weeks back. I think it's a 1995? It was repainted at some point black cherry metallic so it wasn't in horrible shape. Some minor to medium swirls, a few chips & no beading at all. Washed w/ XMT Gel Shampoo (Original) w/ a...

    Baby Oil & Meg's 105

I've used this a few times now. Works great. I don't spritz it on though, I just put a very small drop or 2 onto the pad before applying product. Imo any more than that makes the pad/product feel to slick to be doing anything. Whether that's true or not I don't know for sure.

    Is this normal?

Richy, I know what you mean, mine gets hot as well. Especially the metal housing, almost like you're touching a hot stove. The top of the machine also gets rather warm. The handle I think is ok. I was just chalking it up to 100deg days plus when I wasn't using the machine it was laying in...

    XMT 360 Fail??

I've never experienced that. I use either a LC orange, white or sometimes green (CCS or flat depending on what I have). I usually set the speed around 5-5.5 either on the PC (1st gen) or the Flex 3401.

Which Detailer's(DP) products do you use?

I use the Waterless Wash all the time. Usually the regular but just ordered the concentrate on bogo. Krystal glass cleaner & Wheel Glaze are ok. I like the Quick Wax & Quick Detailer. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/51235-dp-quick-detailer-review.html...

    Split Personality MF Pads

No machine. Just pad cleaner or APC+ & sun dry. I was at 6 or close to it. Moderate pressure for the first few passes then lighten up for the last 1 or 2. I'll keep it dialed in at 5 next time & see how that goes. I figured Meguiars would replace it. Not really a big deal unless it keeps...

    Split Personality MF Pads

Megs mf pad decided to come apart today. I've only used it maybe 10 times, if that. Thankfully I had another. Is this normal life expectancy for these pads? The polishing pad is still holding up.. so far. I noticed the center of the mf was bubbling like a loose carpet so I knew it was coming...

I feel like I scare possible customers away

As others have said, it could be competitors so do the same. Find out what other detailers in your area are charging & what exactly they are doing for that price. This way when a customer says 'that's to much' you can reply 'compared to who?' If they insist on a price w/o seeing the car simply...
