    outdoor detailing. dust between steps?

If the car is washed, a QD should suffice. At least that's what I use. ONR would do the trick though.

    Carpet Extractor

I'd definitely think so. The bissell never got hot enough IMHO and the suction wasn't nearly as powerful as the MyTee. Plus the MyTee heats up cold water to near scalding in 15 min. BIG timesaver. Like I said though, I'd get it only if you make a living off of it. The one I have I got for a...

    Tornador Black

I can't say about the Black specifically, but I do have an older model and it is a pretty useful tool. One of the things I heavily use it for is cleaning door jambs. I use it with ONR and it does a nice job blasting out debris and leaving a lubricated surface to wipe off with a MF. I also find...

    Carpet Extractor

The MyTee lite 2 is an excellent tool, especially when used with an effective carpet cleaner like folex and a proper agitator (I use the PC with various carpet brush attachments). These tools have given me incredible results with minimal effort on my part. IMO it is invaluable if you do this...

    Automatic Swirl Machine

I wonder if you got any second looks when you pulled into the rental car park. If I were the manager I'd run the VIN to check of its the same car lol.

    Tornador

I guess it depends on what you're using it for. If you do this for a living it does do a lot of work for you, and it does allow you to clean many of the nooks and crannies more thoroughly. If you're a weekender I wouldn't waste your money on it. Quality work can be done with a good apc, water...

    Strange claying process

The reason I used ONR is because from experience it has never degraded the clay. The same can't be said about soapy water. Every time I used car wash soap the clay started disintegrating after doing half the car. I can't say about Mother's soap though.

Why can't I get my windows clean?

In my research lab we use acetone to clean glassware after scrubbing with detergent. It always leaves them #### and span. Don't think it'd be the best idea for detailing though because it can oxidize some plastics and vinyls. Also I can only imagine what it would do to window tinting and...

    Detailing business idea

Give a man a detail, clean his car for one day. Teach a man to detail, clean his car for a lifetime. :xyxthumbs:

    Best for drying ?

If the car has a good coat of wax, you could flood the surface with a garden hose minus any attachments. The cohesive forces between the individual water molecules along with the lack of adhesive forces between the water and the wax (and gravity) will draw most of the water off of the car...

    chip repair question

Taken from the Dr. Colorchip FAQ page: Can I use just the paint or blending solution? The paint is not regular touch-up paint and is made to work with the SealAct solution. As such, the SealAct will not work with regular touch-up paint. Feel free to order just the paint if you plan on applying...

Where do you guys buy your major appliances (i.e. a dishwasher)?

I like hhgregg. They usually have good prices on like new open box items. My brother got his Samsung 50" LCD tv for a steal of a deal, like $550 IIRC.

Best tool to reach roof of pickup trucks

You could always learn to use stilts. You'd probably be the most badass car washer in your area then :righton: On a more serious note make sure to use a good foaming shampoo. The first time I used the Montana brush I cheaped out and used some 3 yo 3m car wash soap. Some areas were left marred.

    Good canopy for sunshine detailing?

    Just checked harbor freight. They have a 10 x 10 on sale for $64.99 and a 10 x 20 for $149.99. The 10 x 20 has pretty decent reviews.

    Carpet cleaners

An arsenal of detailing brushes and microfiber towels with a quality APC will be the least expensive. The tornador is a nifty tool that will let you do an even better job but obviously at a higher cost. The dynamic (albeit expensive) duo of interior cleaning is a quality steamer and carpet...

    Cleaning interiors suck!

Getting new tools and gadgets won't necessarily make the job go faster. In my personal experience (and probably others on this forum) the use of tools like steamers, tornadors, extractors etc. doesn't make interior work go faster, but rather allows me to do a better, more thorough job. However...

What would you recommend using to clean the spray gun after use?

How can I get better pictures?

Couldn't agree more. 1. The easiest (albeit expensive) way to write with light is with strobes IMO. 2. Various different types of lenses will definitely help with this, my go to was usually the 14-24 2.8 and shoot low pointing up. 3.Veeeeery important theory to understand here. Even the best...
