    pls. clarify detailing process

Here is my "rule of thumb" Start with One Section and use the least aggressive polish/pad combo to get the job done. This will depend on the severity of the imperfections, but the majority of time start with a medium aggressive polish and polishing pad. Work polish in completely (see polish...

    Help Black Car

:iagree: Most likely you'll leave some degree of hazing on black even with a 6" orange pad...Like everyone says step it down with a polishing pad and finishing polish and you'll be fine.

    Polishing pad question.

What Sparkie said...When I polish my Yukon I usually have to change the pads a couple times for each polish. The amount of times I have to change the pads depends on the polish I'm using, usually the more aggressive the polish the quicker they become clogged. Yeah, there is a little more paint...

    What Speed?

:iagree: In between 5-6, on the dial, is 5. Change the speed on your PC without it on and you'll feel "clicks" between 1-5 but none between 5-6.

Just bought a PC 7336-SP. Will these pads suffice?

If you are just using the PC to only apply Zaino, then get the white finishing pad. Since you are not doing any paint correction, there is no need for anything other then a white finishing pad. Now, if you are looking to do some paint correction in the future, I'd spend the money now and get a...

In your humble opinions, which product line gives the best shine?

The main thing to remember is prep (swirl, scratch, imperfection removal). Prep contributes to the majority of your paint shine. A wax or sealant adds protection and an extra "pop" to the paint. You state that the car is flawless, no offense but, unless it's been washed, dried and maintained...

    Help Please.......Meguiars Final Detail

Good luck, you're right it hasn't been around for ~ 1.5-2yrs. It's not the same as Final Inspection/Last Touch...far better. I bought a gallon before they discontinued it and I have about 8oz. left. It is still one of my favorite QD's, no streaking and leaves a great finish. Good luck on...

    DACP#83 and Poorboys SSR3?

I disagree, I've used SSR3 many times with a PC, it works and breaks down fine. It is an aggressive polish so you do have to follow it up with a less aggressive polish, but I've never had any trouble with it breaking down. Here is b&a with SSR3 & DACP Yes it is more aggressive then DACP...

Poorboy Spray & Wipe vs Optimum No Rinse

I've never use Optimum No Rinse so I can't comment on it, but from what you said above, S&W is the perfect product. Spray & Wipe is just Awesome, and a must have if you don't want to wash your vehicle 2-3x a week. I usually just use it on light dirt or dusting, but the pictures below show...

XMT Finishing Glaze/Liquid Souveran on Black

Thanks Guys (and Gals) Thanks, I do go back and forth between Z16 and Bold & Bright...they are both my favorite tire dressings...and the only ones I use. To tell you the true the one I decide to use is usually the one that is closest to me at the time :D I prefer a nice satin look with...

I posted this on Autopia and thought I posted it here too, oops. Anyway here are some pics after XMT finishing glaze and Liquid Souveran on my Yukon and a "mini" review of each of them: XMT Finishing glaze - Very nice glaze, easy to apply and removal was just as easy - leaves a tad bit...

    Birdie Doo-Doo Damage/Etching

My questions is - what is the point of longer durability if a sealant can't protect against the elements?? I don't mind spending 15 mins applying a coat of carnauba (whenever needed) to bring back the shine and knowing it's protected.

    Birdie Doo-Doo Damage/Etching

Without a doubt yes. I use a sealant on my wife's car and no matter if I get to the bird dropping right away or if it sits, it always leaves a mark or etching that needs to be polished out. Now on my truck , I always use a carnauba wax and last week went out to dinner, came home and saw 2 huge...

Upholstery protectant: Please help select for new car

Really? I've never had any problem on my wife's light gray fabric...I do use multiple thin coats (~5-10 in between coats) instead of trying to cover in one coat, maybe that's why.

I've used both and I prefer 303 High Tech Fabric Guard.... It far outlasts Scotchguard.
