    Route Causes of Defects/Swirls/Scratches

You just need to accept that you will get some swirls even with proper washing techniques. Dirt can actually do more damage to the paint by sitting on it for to long then cleaning it off will.

    Question about cleaning carpet

I think that you can get professional quality results on floor mats by soaking them in a bath tub or spraying them down with a hose followed by scrubbing them with a brush and a good carpet cleaner. The problem is that after rinsing them off, they need to dry which isn't practical for day jobs...

    New or pre-owned car opinions

A Camry would be a good because it's more of a mid size car. You might also want to consider the hybrid version. I'm a BMW fan so I would also look into something like a 2001-2003 5 series if it's in your budget. They are also available in manuals. Good luck.

Polish after paint job, what is the waiting period?

You should not wax or seal the paint for at least 30 days in hot climates and ideally 90 days, especially if in a colder climate. It's the one time that you will do more bad then good to the paint by putting on an LSP. The paint needs to out-gas or it can start to bubble.

HD DVD Officially Dead --- Toshiba offers Sony the Win !

I don't think that Sony has total control over Blu-Ray so I'm not sure that it's really up to them. But even if it were, Microsoft makes the operating system that Sony puts on all of its computers so I don't think that Sony will try to tell Microsoft what they can or can not do, just how much...

    Leatherique?

Does the car have a sunroof? If it does then open then sunroof shade (not the sunroof itself) and let the car bake in the sun. It should get nice and warm if there are no clouds out. Another option is to use a hairdryer to warm things up. If you have the car for awhile then try letting the...

How much work can you do in an hour?

Thank you everyone for your responses. tripperfx3: I like ONR but I like to have a hose for the tires and wheel wells because I feel I can do a better job (a degreaser does a better job then ONR but needs to be rinsed off).

How much work can you do in an hour?

Hello everyone. I have been trying for awhile now to start a part time detailing business for some cash on the side while I'm in school. Unfortunately, I have not made much progress so I am starting to do car washes at a gym (that my friends and I used to get trained at) in order to get known...

I would try anything from rubbing alcohol to mineral spirits. Maybe see if an AIO will do anything. Man, that sucks.

    plastic/headlight restoration project

To do a good job quick, I would sand and compound. No need for a finer polish unless you demand perfection which it seems like you don't. I would also skip using a sealant since there is no immediate difference that it makes. Other than that, just practice. My suggestions are simply ways to cut...

    is this fixable

Since the paints failing, then you mind as well wet-sand and polish it. It would be good practice.
