Just when it was getting nice...

Yuck. I just put the summer wheels on our car the other day, I know it will snow at least one more time here in Michigan though, but we have the Suburban if it gets too bad haha!

    Hydro2 streaking!

I had that as well with my first use, not as bad though. Diluting it a little more may help as well as making sure the surface us thoroughly wet before spraying, also the better your sprayer mists the less chance you have of streaking as the product will be more every dispersed.

    Oxidation help?

More then likely it is just trashed from horrible washing and drying methods leaving so much marring and swirl marks that the gloss is all but gone. Even a good one step could very likely restore the gloss and make a huge difference. I would use the dull paint as a tool to try to get a better...

    Can these headlights be restored?

Most of the store bought headlight kits really don't come with the coarse sand paper needed to really cut the oxidized factory coating and plastic enough to get to the good stuff underneath, I would also start with 400 grit and work your way up to 2000 or higher then polish out and should be...

    Bissell Carpet Machine Recommendation?

I bought a little green proheat a few years ago for home and detailing use, it has been invaluable to me. I have 6 and 7 year old boys, a 1 year old daughter, a 2 year old dog, and a detailing addiction. As mentioned above, I am sure it won't compare to a real pro extractor, but for around...

    How do YOU restore headlights?

Many headlights just require more work then compounding / polishing alone to restore the clarity, sometimes sanding starting with as far as 400 or even 320 grit for extremely trashed lenses. What ever happened to the whole mineral spirits / spar urethane craze that everyone was all about not...

Approach to detailing outside vs. shelter garage area

I have detailed outside for several years, Menzerna and HD products work good, just have to be careful. I like working in the sunlight as you really get a good look at your work, but at the same time it makes it much more tedious as you really have to be careful of heat. Work smaller areas...

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

LOL just couldn't resist :) I love this method, will never go back! Waiting for some somewhat better weather so I can do the headlights on my '96 Z71 truck. Those headlights are beat! 200,000 miles on them.

2006 Monterey Red Corvette Restoration - It all started with a "scratch"

I honestly thought your camera was messed up or out of focus or something with the before pics until I scrolled down and took a look at the 50/50 shot of the hood test spot! WOW what a difference you guys made on that one! Good job :buffing:

CONFUSED - Induced Holograms With A DA?!?!

Just read all 10 pages, pretty sad that people feel the need to bash someone seeking information... You work your butt off and it shows! You obviously produce quality results or you wouldn't be as successful as you are :dblthumb2: Looking forward to the end result of this one :buffing:

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

Tried out the spar urethane / mineral spirits on a headlight for a car I just picked up. Snagged this car for $500, the lady couldn't get it running and wanted it out of her driveway... a half hour after I got it home I had it running and have been driving it for a couple days now :) Cloudy...

    Best wheel sealant.

I have been using Meguiar's #21 synthetic sealant for wheels for a few years now. Looks great, super slick, easy to apply / remove, lasts quite a while, and I don't have to carry around another product :)

What are these defects in my paint?

I detailed a 2002 S10 xtreme a few years ago, black also, had those all over the paint! Scared the crap out of me at first because you couldn't really see them before from all the swirls on the paint I thought it was something I did at first but then posted on here and found out it was micro...

    The king of spray bottles?

Spraymaster hands down easily is my favorite. I hate having to squeeze the trigger 20 times to cover one wheel with cleaner then rinsing out the sprayer so it doesn't destroy it. I have been using one for my Meguiar's Wheel Brightener for three years now and never rinsed it, still works perfect.
