    Winter Storage

Some products may separate when frozen, but when brought back to room temp you can shake them good for a few minutes and they will still be good. Other products will be destroyed. About all you can do to be 100% sure is try it on a test area or old hood / fender if you have access to one. I...

About had a heart attack today!

I just got the rest of the truck done with SIP and found a few dime sized spots of very close together cracking that looks exactly like the rest of it, only very close together. I would say that anyone that said I was wrong about the sand / buffer and said that it was cracking is correct here...

About had a heart attack today!

Not my truck LOL funny though :D He does live in an area where there are a lot of dirt roads, although this truck rarely sees them. Upon closer examination of the marks, along with what was said here, I think I am going to retract my statement about it being from a buffer. I have just...

About had a heart attack today!

That is what I was thinking. As far as it not being from a buffer, then what in the world do you think it could have come from? They are not all pits, most of them just look like very short scratches. I don't know, that is just the only thing I could think of that made any sense to me.

About had a heart attack today!

I dunno... I was soo frustrated that I didn't even bother to check. I do know that nothing I have will touch it. If it was my truck, and I had a rotary, I would try wetsanding, but I just can't try wetsanding on a vehicle that is not mine for my first time, especially with only having a UDM...

About had a heart attack today!

I'm not going to beat anyone LOL. Not my truck, but if it was my truck I would probably be mad enough to beat someone. Hard to say for 100% who did the marks, but I would say it was the last buff job it recieved. It has only been done twice before today. The first time was by a friend that...

About had a heart attack today!

I am detailing a black 2000 S10 Extreme for my soon to be brother-in-law, wedding is this Saturday. He bought the truck new and it is his summer toy. Anyways, I went through the normal process, wash, clay, dry then inspect it and begin to polish. I used my usual 5.5" orange CCS pad with SIP...

Tree sap on a tonneau cover?

I am working on a 2001 S10 Extreme and it has a tonneau cover on it that is loaded with pine sap. Any idea what would work to remove the sap from the cover?

    Need Help to Remove Paint

I was going to suggest acetone for him as well, but forgot when we got to talking about the rest of the car. Sandblasting would be not be good though because then it would all need to be repainted.

Nice job! That interior color is horrible though.

    Pricing

It will depend a lot on your area. I charge about $150 for an exterior detail on a car. I know that is cheap, but I only do one or two a week in my spare time. I have a full time job, so this is just basically playing around / hobby for me. I have also only been doing this for just over a...

    Chevy Silverado

Thanks for the comments! I was going to use my Meguiar's #21 2.0 sealant on it, but after looking at the paint all cleaned up, I had to see it topped with Fuzion. Needless to say, I was VERY happy with the results :D

    Chevy Silverado

Fuzion applied. I REALLY loved how the Fuzion brought out the metallic in the paint :righton: You can see some marks in the wax in this pic. I noticed, and removed them after this pic.... didn't think to get another pic though... A very happy customer driving home Im the MAN

    Chevy Silverado

A guy I work with heard that I detail and wanted his truck done up. He brought it over last night and wanted a quick once over, nothing serious as he lives down a dirt road. First up Rims -- Meguiar's Wheel Brightener 4:1 -- Meguiar's Gold Class car wash Wheel wells -- Meguiar's Gold Class...

    Product Review: Nevr-Dulling Wadding Polish

I have a can of that in my arsenal. I have tried it on various chrome and stainless pieces and stuff, but was not able to get results like that, so I leave it on the shelf until I need it for bare/uncoated metal. For polished rims or any other bare polished metal, this stuff is amazing...

What do you use to prime your pads before use?

For a dry pad, I will use a very light mist of water, just enough to lightly dampen the surface of the pad. I then use just a bit more polish for the first pass and start off at the lowest setting and spread the polish around. This is with my UDM and LC CCS pads. I have not had any problems...
