After a very long 3 days of fighting crappy weather and in laws coming over for BBQ. I finished my first DA detail on my mustang. It started off kinda rough when I made a stupid mistake with trying M205 with a terry cloth applicator on the hood but with some advice from people on here I think...

thanks I was very happy I fixed it also..i did one more pass with almost no pressure and the hazing was gone..the weather here in jersey don't look to promising for the weekend but I don't care if it takes me a week im gonna take my time and enjoy the process and hope I end up with great results

Is there any products or certain techniques that I should try to avoid

I just want to thank everyone again for your help. I used a white finishing pad with M205 and all the marks I put in there yesterday are 100% gone and the finish looks amazing..as long as the weather holds up this weekend I will post pics...thank you all again

I think my problem was that I have detailed my cars by hand since I was 17 and the autozone near me always had meguiars products and I always used there cloth pads and never had a problem...I guess I wasn't expecting a problem with trying but I should of waited and thought about what I learned...

im gonna do it by machine this time...I bought all the supplies and have been reading on this forum for months to learn how to use them..i guess I was nervous on using the machine for the first and thought doing a test spot by hand was a safe way to start...huge mistake on my part..again thank...

The pads I have are lake country CCS ones are those ok to use to?

Is this fixable or am I screwed

I have M105,M205, swirl remover 2.0 and ultimate polish. For pads I have lake county pads in 6.5 5.5 and 4.0 I have a bunch of every color

Obviously using the pad from autozone was a big mistake. I have used them for so long and never had anything like this happen so I didn't think it would hurt but a big lesson learned now..I should have just waited till the next day and done the right thing

Maybe that's what I did. What's your suggestion on how to fix this if it can be. I do have a polisher and all the different pads I'm just very new at using it. Evan would u mind if I emailed you the picture since I can't post it. Just so u can look at what happen
