I haven't had experience with the soap you mentioned, but i have had experience with soaps that leave a film behind that inhibits beading the next time the car gets wet. Try QD'ing after you wash and see if that tightens up the beads

I'll make it for this :) you dont really have to worry about showing up with a dirty ride. Check out meghan's pictures from last years... I showed up and washed the car out back (granted it took me 2 hours, but hey, i've got a reputation to live up to ;) )

I ended up waxing my windshield, side windows, and hatch class with collinite when i did the car a few months ago. To this day, i still dont have to use my windshield wipers as long as i go faster than 30 mph :)

to remove the old buildup, you could even go to any auto parts store and pick up a bottle of meguiar's deep crystal step 1. Its an effective chemical cleaner that works well by hand. It's what I used prior to getting my first bottle of AIO

folex i use on trouble spots, for just general cleaning 7:1 meg's APC works great. can be a little difficult to completely remove though.

I use 845 IW on my own car nowadays. Yes i have access to a wash facility now (top of the UCF car garage!), but an actual garage where I can completely detail the car is still hard to come by. I've had a single coat of 845 over a base of AIO since mid september when I fully detailed the car...

i use it all the time to clean my pads :) works great on bugs too i wouldnt use it on a waxed car though. it *kills* wax
