Faster results, can buff new paint after sanding to remove orange peel. I believe a DA can do pretty much everything a rotary can...but it just takes way too long imo. Hoping for much faster results with a rotary - specifically the Makita is what i am eyeing off

I just ordered the lake country purple pad (think its a wool/foam type) and a generic wool pad...will see how i go with those pads once they come in. I recken they should get me in a good place with minimal eating of clear. But who knows, Im still very noob at it all....I got good results on...

Hmmm a rotary would probably get out all the swirls... Do cheap ones still do the job? Or should they be avoided? I have some menzerna polishes and been.using.foam pads

And whats a cheap paint thickness gauge worth?

Isn't 3000 grit the same as just applying a polish? Same sort of abrasiveness? Pretty sure there is orange peel, most factory paints I have seen have a small amount of orange peel and are rarely flat finish's.
