I watched a pro work on my car this weekend with rotary and wool pads--part of what he was doing was trying to train me in technique. First of all, there are different aggressiveness levels of wool pads, like there are different levels of foam pads--so you just can't say "I want a wool pad"...

I think it will throw the pad right off, particularly at 5 or 6. I may have done this early on in my learning process. I know my son did, because I ducked just in time--BOTH times! I assume it was accidental on his part.:) It was exciting, though.

Single stage paint?

I did a right half/left half comparison with Meg's 16 and Collinite 845 on my trunk lid. (#16 is my regular wax). The initial beading was identical, or at least there was no discernable difference. I have since stripped polished, re-sealed and rewaxed with 16 so I don't know about longevity...

Is it wrong to hate the owner of that car? On a different note, you posted that you applied two coats of NXT with a Meg's 8006 (yellow pad). Did you mean the 9006 (tan pad)?
