Clay bar for new paint job?

The clay process just removes surface contaminants. You're not removing layers of paint. Depending on the condition of the paint, pick out a clay bar that matches your needs. For newer paint, I often get away with using a fine grade. Use plenty of lubrication when claying.

    Frustration

Life is too short to get frustrated over silly stuff like this. Look at it as a way to spend more time with your ride. I'd assume the polishing and waxing you did made the surface at least somewhat hydrophobic. Easy clean up.

    Impressed by menzerna 400

I've had similar experiences. I reach for fg400 all the time now because I know it will work and finishes out extremely well. I've tried going back to my other options in my cart since they're less expensive, but it just doesn't give me the same results.
