    Optimum Update

One hell of a product....but I may be biased as I have been working on this stuff for a good while now testing it and trying to fine tune it. Doctor G. has decided this will be a pro product and not sold by anyone other than himself because it is made to order. This doesn't mean that non pros...

    Learning to detail

Hello, I'm in San Antonio and I charge $100.00 per day to learn the basics of paint prep, diagnose the paint and correct it. Then we try and get into some interior work also. The main difference between Kevin and our training is that Kevin has been providing training for a lot longer so I am...

    Porsche Carrera 3 step correction

This is just a short post of my process to correct the paint of a Porsche Carrera in 3 steps. 2 rotary steps and 1 orbital step. Here is what I started with. There were no holograms or swirls but it was covered with halo-scratches or marring. Here is another picture. My first step...

    Learning to detail

Getting some training is far better than just learning on your own or trying out various products. What type of paint are you working on? What type of stain are you dealing with? Oil based, protein, etc ? How do you effectively remove smoke odors, spoiled milk, gasoline? Can you use that...

    Learning to detail

If you're within or close to Texas (or willing to travel) I offer training. We offer both detail training and PDR training. If you're closer to the upper East coast then I highly recommend Kevin Farrell 888.302.6400 You'll need at least 2 days or more for some in depth and proper training. 2...

My first customer on the new shop...

Congrats and nice work.......my one critique though would be to make sure you catch those wheel wells next time. They take away from the clean wheels and tires, especially at night when headlights hit those areas. Wish you the best, Anthony

    Optimum Compound drying up quickly?

The compound has a thinner consistency to it, that is normal. Drying out should not be normal. It should work just about as long as the polish and of course things like pads, polisher, humidity, etc all play into that. Since the polish seems to be working just fine for you I would guess that...

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer

I mixed the 3:1 with a diluted OID and yes I meant the car wax, not the car wash. Mix some OID with your car wax and you'll get a wonderful QD with enhanced UV protection. Also you can mix as you like or see fit. My ratio is based on my personal preference. Anthony

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer

Try using a 3:1 ratio of OID and OCW on those finishes which streak.....or mix in some ONR with your OID (all 3 products are cross compatible) with about the same ratio and see how that works for you. I use OID as I give cars a ONR wash. Either before I NR a panel or after I NR a panel I'll...

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer

OID can play finicky with some LSP's so that could be an issue. Another thing to try is to add a little distilled water to your 17 ounce spray bottle. I almost always over dilute a concentrated product just a tad and while the 17 ounce is ready to go it could be possible that your certain batch...

Need someone to do a review for me!

I understand a lot of people may have requested the product and you all have every right to sell it but my point, and the point of others, is that this is not a product intended for cured OEM paint but rather paint that is fairly soft, as in not yet fully cured. Dust2Glory explained it well. So...

Need someone to do a review for me!

I agree here with Zoran. Why carry a system designed for fresh paint working and not recommended for cured factory paints when there are literally dozens of products you already carry designed for OEM paints?? I've used it briefly and it works OK on softer OEM paints but not better than a host...

    ONR great car wash

ONR works great when mixed with your traditional soap and water BUT let it be known that it will reduce the soaps suds so don't be alarmed their is still plenty of lubrication in the mixture. Suds do not lubricate. Anthony

    Optimum X meets Red 500SL

I'll try and clear up some misinformation. It's a coating and not a sealant. It's permanent or maybe better would be semi-permanent. It can't be removed with alcohol or dish soap nor prepsol. It can though be removed by means of abrasive polish. It can be topped with waxes, sealants and I...

    Porsches, Porsches, Porsches....

Thank you all very much. I haven't posted up much in terms of pictures and such because I've been very busy and just no time really to take before, during and then after pictures. So I do a few here and there now. Thanks again, Anthony

    Porsches, Porsches, Porsches....

In need of heavy paint correction I started on this exterior Wednesday in the early morning. After a No Rinse wash I discovered that some areas have been repainted so I knew this meant the paint would not be your normal soft Porsche paint. Much to my surprise though most of the correction was...

    Porsches, Porsches, Porsches....

There is a local PCA show here next weekend and a few of my clients will be entering their Pcars, both in concours and display, and this beautiful Turbo Speed Yellow will be one in the concours. It really only needed a good washing and I'm guessing that it would of been the one to beat as the...

    Certificate?

There's no such thing as an "Certified Detailer" because there is no body that governs nor certifies detailers as a whole. Anthony
