There have been several questions about us carrying Optimum newer versions and some of their new products.
Yes we have the new version in stock and yes we are carrying the new items they have released, including Metal Polish and the Car Care Sampler kit!

Stop by and take a look!

Gotta love what they are doing over at OPT.

I need to re-up on the power clean, and oid, two products a lot of us have been waiting for quite some time.

Great news Meghan. It's always great to see new products :)

I am getting low on my OP. Maybe I will get the new version when I make a order.

any info on optimum x? anyone?

One hell of a product....but I may be biased as I have been working on this stuff for a good while now testing it and trying to fine tune it.

Doctor G. has decided this will be a pro product and not sold by anyone other than himself because it is made to order. This doesn't mean that non pros can't purchase it and use it from pros who can buy it, it just means that they have no support in application from Optimum.

So Autogeek, nor any other retailer, will sell Opti-Coat. No one has worked more with this coating than me and I am not stating that to be conceited but to express that it can be tricky to apply and also an involved process to remove.

As for the new polish and spray wax.....some great improvements have been made in both products. The new Polish has a significant increase in cut and also does so faster. It doesn't have as long of a working time as the last version but it still takes a good while to dust up.

The new OCW is easier to work with, not that the old version was difficult, it's just that the new version seems to evaporate quicker. Seems to be slicker and leaves behind a nice gloss.

I love the new Ocw, but I really didn't have any complaints about it's original version.

Anthony,

How long have you been watching opti coat and how does it look right now? I know the durability is suppose to be unmatched, but I'm wondering how it looks in your opinion after a standard wash?

I am very eager to try the new op, it's good to hear you are having success with it.

Love to hear AG is on top of a new product coming out and adding it to their lineup. Another reason to love AG

I have the coating on my hood. It's been on there going on seven months. The look is identical to a fresh application of OOS IMO and I have never seen the big round beads and sheeting it creates.

Hey Brian,

On some test cars it has been going strong for over 3 years. As Chris noted the look has not changed BUT it in and of itself does not create a "look"....I mean it seems to add some gloss but like most LSP's it's the prep that really creates the look. After 24 hours I then apply an LSP like OCW, OS or a fine hand wax like Victoria's.

It seems that after a week or so we can lightly polish the paint, with a 100 ppi pad and a very fine polish, like Ultrafina, and not remove the Opti-Coat. I know this because I have had to redo some panels on cars because of some streaks but a white LC pad and Optimum Polish has a tough time removing the coating.

Anthony

Thanks for the info, sounds like a great product. The fact that you are able to lightly polish the coating should be enough reason for most detailers to start each client off with this product. I'm sure a lot of people are as excited as I am about the release of opticoat.

Is the updated OCW the 3rd now or are we still talking about the updated version from months ago?
