Yes it can be used on black paint. It can be used on any colored paint or surface. Most pictures shown are on white paint because white or any light colored surface will show the bleeding more. Or wheels because wheels will probably have the most iron content from the brake dust thus...

Those black marks are from the shroud making contact with the grey area of the backing plate you're showing. This is what they call "anti-spin" feature. I absolutely hated that this turns the BP black like you've shown. Not only that but after prolong use, you will see black plastic debris...

Thanks a lot Mike! Sorry for responding late but I've used Sonax Wheel Cleaner, IronX, DUB Wheel Cleaner, and now the McKee's Iron Remover. None of these iron removers stained the driveway.

Great review Mike! Very detailed and informative. It sucks that the pad delaminated just after one use. Hope B&S fixes this isssue. Price seems to be well Positioned compared to the Rupes pads.
